I wonder why, in their planning, they didn't go to Walmart to buy the shovel and cleaning products BEFORE they killed her.

And why transport the bloody body in your LEXUS?? That's just evidence waiting to be found imo, these 2 watch crime tv, they knew there is no way possible to ever be able to clean up every inch of blood off of anything! Maybe they should have planned a little longer or hey here's an idea -don't murder someone for *****s & giggles for crying out loud!
I think if I was NL's momma I would have definitely lost my ***** right there in the midst of the hearing!!!

The thoughts & opinions stated above are that, MY random thoughts & opinions.

The Wytheville Walmart side-trip puts the drive from crime site to disposal site at around 110 miles and two hours of driving. I don't know if they took Google's suggested route though since a chunk isn't on I-77. The I-77 route would be around 125 miles but still about two hours.

Returning home the shortest way is about 79 miles in an hour and 30 minutes. The more likely route (I-77) is around 94 miles in the same amount of time.

So, driving time alone for the round trip is three and a half hours. With picking up the victim, stopping by the dorm, driving to Craig Creek, killing, waiting on Keepers, loading the body, etc. that was a pretty full night.

As an aside, I remembered seeing a picture of pasta from Brio on her Instagram. The photo was posted 6 weeks ago. While the Brio gluten-free menu does have some options, the meal she got isn't one of them, and the menu also states that all items are prepared in a common kitchen (i.e., if you're really that sensitive to/intolerant of gluten, you shouldn't eat here, even if your particular dish is gluten-free). You're totally right. She can find something to eat in prison. As my mom used to tell me, if you're really hungry, you won't be picky.

Great catch. I remember seeing that same photo. As I recall she was with her "bae", correct?

I thought it said they did buy the shovel in advance but the cleaning supplies afterward. Perhaps it was messier than they expected?

Wow some people need to take it easy. We have no indication that NK was raised by anything but a normal loving family. Sometimes people who commit terrible crimes come from perfectly normal families. They are experiencing trauma too at this moment. No reason to blame them or ridicule them for loving their daughter.

Likewise, prisons are responsible for providing medical care to the prisoners and that includes giving them the medication they need. Withdrawing cold turkey from SSRIs is terrible. And gluten intolerance is a real medical condition as well. Last I checked the US is a developed nation and should not deny prisoners medication or human rights.

I get that people are disgusted, I am too. But there's still a minimum standard of human decency that we should keep. If she's guilty, she'll go to prison for the rest of her life as she should.

I think the fact that NK's father is asking for improvements for his daughter on the day his daughter's victim gets buried shows a lot. Namely a complete lack of concern and sensitivity for Nicole and her family. It's just very inappropriate behaviour imo. He could have waited a few days.

So her dad is concerned that she doesn't have the right mattress, isn't getting gluten-free food, and could possibly get bullied because she is not street smart? I wonder if this girl grew up having no concept of what jail is.....

I am really not sure what she thought would happen, but I bet this isn't it. Perhaps they thought that by mutually denying they would get away with it.

She certainly seems utterly delusional.

After reading these comments about the mattress and the allergies, etc., from Nk and her father, I get the feeling that they're out of touch with reality. Do they understand the gravity of the situation?? It's just crazy to me that they're complaining about GLUTEN! Hey, you just murdered a child! No one cares how you prefer to eat! ...
Exactly, eat fruit, nuts, vegetables and oatmeal and that's your solution!!!

And this is why we love WS'ers. Who else would remember the pasta on her IG? :)

A bit off topic, but is NK Instagram private? That's the only one I could find, but it's set to private.

She doesn't feel remorse because she's evil. Period. She proved that today with her selfish requests.

The discussion was about the parents expressing remorse.

They purchased the shovel prior to her murder, but do we know that Nicole was buried or discovered in a shallow grave?

I wonder if DE jumped the gun that night/early morning.

I think the discussion is about a gluten free diet in prison, not in the free world. Yes, your solution would work well for the average population. Prisoners don't have a beautiful breakfast and salad buffet available.

I don't mean to imply that she should be given bail because she requires a gluten free diet (which I actually believe only affects a tiny portion of the human population) but rather, while we're discussing diet it's important to note that prison diets are notoriously horrible and prisoners will go to all kinds of religious or self-help sessions if there is something they could actually taste being offered as a snack.

He probably told her he was taking her on a romantic date to Caldwell Fields. It would be gorgeous with all the snow we got the previous weekend. He'd take her life there with no mess to his precious luxury vehicle. Then he discovers the road was too icy, his Lexus/Mercedes (I've seen both mentioned in articles) couldn't make it down the road and he had to change his plans and kill her in or near the car. JMO.

My heart breaks for Nicole. I honestly have nothing more to even say. It's just so senseless. So sad.

I agree that prisons are responsible for providing prisoners with their medication and that sudden withdrawal from SSRI's (like prozac) is not good. But according to research, only about 1% of the American population cannot tolerate gluten and should avoid eating it. These are people who have been diagnosed with celiac disease confirmed from a blood test. Most everyone else can digest gluten which comes from wheat, rye, and barley. If NK had celiac disease I think they would have said that and it could be verified. I think it was BS myself. The girl (NK) must be deeply disturbed and its a good thing she is locked up and off the streets before she could plan another crime of this magnitude!

I kinda find it odd they stopped for cleaning supplies before disposing of the body. You'd think they'd be wanting to take care of that as fast as possible unless they just got a thrill out of driving around with a body or they were putting off having to deal with it.
