the defense is now saying that the murder weapon could have been a shovel, and the coroner just said "that was never crossed my mind". Defense intentionally trying to confuse jurors, and take their minds off of a knife. Jurors body language, now sitting up in their chairs, indicates they are thinking about a shovel now, not a knife.

The crux of medical examiner's testimony appears to be the difference between blunt-force or sharp-force wounds. Commonwealth emphasizing a stab wound to Lovell's jugular killed her. Defense pointing to blows to head/possibility of shovel as murder weapon.

Recall the coroner already testified that she was living up until the time her spinal cord was severed. That was the result of a stab wound, IIRC.

Travis Witt, an FBI agent based in Roanoke, called to the witness stand by the commonwealth. He said Eisenhauer, who waved his right to an attorney, was interviewed on Jan. 30, 2016 about the disappearance of Nicole Lovell.

Recall Pettitt said in her opening statement that DE told LE in interviews that he was the last person to see NL alive. Maybe this guy will testify to that.

Defense is arguing statements made by agent Whit are "deeply prejudicial" against Eisenhauer and should not be admissible. Whit is heard on the tape saying "all roads lead" to Eisenhauer and discussing other crimes he investigates, sometimes sexual in nature.

Now we're hearing Eisenhauer on the tape. Said he got "freaked out" when Lovell indicated they were "dating or whatever" after meeting on the Kik messenger app. Said Lovell asked to hang out and he agreed.
