11:20 a.m.:

Kale Craver with the Blacksburg Police department now explains he collected evidence that Blacksburg officers had previously pulled from dumpsters in an overflow parking lot on the Virginia Tech campus. Those items were a wad of napkins, a cleaning wipe, a cleaning wipe with a red stain, two rubber kitchen dishwashing glove, and a blue latex glove. All those items collected for evidence were then put in an evidence room at the Blacksburg Police Department.

Tony Anderson, a defense attorney, asks if Craver was also at the Vet. Med. Pond investigation scene where a phone was found. He says he was. He also found a green handled knife in a hole on the property.

another version of that update:

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. - 11:45 a.m. UPDATE

Sgt. Kale Craver with the Blacksburg Police Department was called to testify about securing evidence recovered by Virginia Tech police officers. Craver described evidence found that day to the jury as photos of the evidence were shown. Among the items found were wads of red-stained Clorox wipes, napkins, paper towels, and numerous rubber gloves. Craver talked going into the dumpster to recover many of the items himself including a rubber, kitchen-style glove.

Defense attorney Tony Anderson questioned Craver about the process of collecting that evidence. Craver said the evidence was collected and stored in their collections department at the Blacksburg Police Department.

Anderson also questioned Craver about a "green-handled knife" that Carver collected from the pond by the Vet Medicine Clinic on Virginia Tech's campus.

This is the same pond that Nicole Lovell's iPhone 4 was found in by an investigative dive team. Investigators made a brief mention of that knife during testimony on Wednesday.

Per my earlier post about the defense showing LE photos of boots

Tony Anderson, Eisenhauer’s attorney again shows screenshots of surveillance videos talking about boots Keepers wore during her trips to the Walmart stores and Cookout. Twigger said she took boots from Keepers for evidence.
Anderson shows Twigger a photo of boots with what appears to be salt stains on them belonging to Keepers. She said she had never seen the photo.

Which boots were they?

So was the knife found in a hole or in the water?

  • #766
Perhaps the defense is trying to indicate the short boots she wore the evening of the murder were the ones with blood on them? That would have put her at the scene of the murder.

Yep, I think you're right. How she didn't get blood on the long boots while she was moving the body is beyond me. Unless she brought along those short boots the next day, changed into them in the car to move the body, because she didn't want to ruin another pair of boots.

Thanks for these photos. They have times included for movements of the GPS.

The third photo down shows the GPS going to 2 different locations on CC Road between 9:47 and 10:40 pm, before NL was abducted. They must have been looking at the two different spots.

The second photo shows an earlier time, when they drove from Target to Walmart and back to Blacksburg at 4:22 pm.

I'm trying to put this into a timeline. Hope the news media comes out with one and saves me the trouble.

ETA: Timeline with what I picked off photos and heard/read of testimony - check video of defense cross exam of the woman who analyzed the data from the Garmin.

3:35 to 4:22 tracked to Target, Walmart then back to Blacksburg

GPS tracked to Cook Out Restaurant
GPS tracked back to Campus
9:47 GPS tracked to CC Road
10:40 GPS tracked to last location CC Road
Shortly after midnight GPS tracked to Nicole's home

Perhaps, typo here (in a hole, but meant pond):

So sorry to hear this 2Hope4. They become our other children.

As a mother who has lost her son, I can tell you it is truly devastating. I can't imagine how Nicole's mom is having to handle this with her child murdered this way and having to go through the two trials. My heart aches for her.

No. That record is from news reports back in 2016. Back then LE only told the news media that he had contacted her at that time. I don't think it's been discussed yet at this trial.

I combined an old timeline someone put together back on the #3 thread and am updating and correcting it as I go.

This is what I suspected all along. They had help:

Her map matches my map, where on the way out to Craig Creek Road, Eisenhauer makes a quick pickup near the office of C&E Gun Shows on Fortress Dr. About 10 minutes later, both maps show he continues on the way to Craig Creek.

https://www.google.com/maps/dir/C+&...f64270bb9a!2m2!1d-80.4605832!2d37.2867389!3e0

https://twitter.com/Annie_Andersen/status/961610210669486082

The prosecution refused to mention this "pit stop" because it would completely blow their 'theory' out of the water that Eisenhauer was the murderer. Funny how the prosecution refuses to enter the purchaseless Target video tape into evidence also, as I highly suspect they weren't there to shop, but were instead at a meeting with someone in the Target Cafe.

I'm not really seeing that. Maybe DE made a wrong turn and had to turn around to go back. Were it true, why would LE want to hide that? It would have no effect on their case. If, as you theorize, DE had someone help him (how anyone who sold guns out of their home would have befriended a young out of town college kid and help him kill a 13 yo girl is beyond me) the prosecutors would have investigated and included that person in the indictments.

That's a residential neighborhood if you look at it in satellite view. Here's a link to the Map developed here at WS back in 2016

https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewe...&ll=37.28430822593964,-80.42819354110412&z=17

Maybe DE had looked up this business online and decided to purchase a gun from them, but chickened out at the last minute.

We're back in session. Commonwealth calls Julie Wesel, who works at Virginia Tech's "Hokie PassPort" Office to stand. These are ID cards Tech students use to buy meals/access residence halls/ride the bus etc. She said Tech tracks where these card are used.

1:00 p.m.:

Julie Wesel with the Hokie Passport Office at Virginia Tech is now giving testimony. She’s explaining the purpose of the Hokie Passport, a card used for students, and employees of VT. Patrick Jensen, the assistant commonwealth’s attorney, asks specifically about accessing buildings and how that process works.

She is showed an access log from a data base from 2015 to 2016 that’s focused on David Eisenhauer’s Hokie Passport usage and Natalie Keepers passport usage. Wesel reads off certain entries into buildings made by both cards belonging to Eisenhauer and Keepers.

Tony Anderson, Eisenhauer’s attorney, asks specifics about how the card process works.

That's NK's dorm, correct? That would be before he picked up NL and after they returned from Walmart.
