Tip led investigators to septic tank where #NoahThomas found. We talked to sanitation worker who responded to scene. http://www.wdbj7.com/news/local/sanitation-technician-describes-discovery-of-noah-thomas/32052894 …

From your link, LE received "a hard and credible tip they needed to check inside the septic tank". Maybe it's the way they worded the remarks in the article but doesn't it sound more like it wasn't the type of tip that made a suggestion to LE but more of a I know more than I can say but you really really need to check inside?

Oh dear. That's not sounding like the accident I envisioned.

Can you imagine being that sanitation guy?

Just sends shivers all through me.

Interesting about someone calling in the tip. So either someone saw or someone was told by the person who did it. I would think it was not done in a text or over social media because I think they would have found him sooner. So, if the person didn't see it happen, possibly the guilt was over the phone? I don't know. I think it is amazing that this person did this. Although I hope they didn't only do it for the money. I only say this because someone said the tip was only called in after the reward was posted. Not sure if this is accurate.

Unless somebody saw someone near the opening of the tank after Noah had been reported missing and after it had been checked - maybe at night?
Did LE stay at the house all night, every night?

Interesting article, not only states that tip led LE to search the septic tank but that the septic tank people pulled the cover off. That answers two of my questions, 1. what led LE to search the tank and 2. was a cover on the septic tank.
Police say they got a hard and credible tip that they needed to look inside the 1,000-gallon septic tank behind the family home.

Montgomery Sanitation Services out of Christiansburg was called to drain the septic tank. We tracked down the technician, who said he was in Giles County when he got the call.

Sheriff Jim Davis, through the Pulaski County public information officer, said that FBI agents and Pulaski County investigators had already removed the two-pound plastic lid. They saw sludge, put the lid back on, and called the company to come drain the tank. We asked the technician what he did when he got to the home.

"Went down to the property, seen two police officers there. And they showed us where the tank was,” Montgomery Sanitation technician Jonathan Abate said. “And we started pulling our hoses off just like we would a normal job. And we pulled the lid off the tank and start pumping. And that's when I seen the little boy down there."

What kind of person knows a 5 year old is in a septic tank, but only speaks up when a $5000 reward is offered??? This makes me sick! I've had my thoughts initially, which I kept to myself, but the thought of more people knowing he was in there ... Ugh !!!! I'm disgusted! Poor sweet child ...

What does it mean results are pending? Waiting for tests to come back? I hope this gives is some answers, and I truly hope it was just an awful awful accident.

If the COD will explain what happened to Noah I wish we knew if LE had made any arrests yet. Does anyone know how to contact one of the reporters with Twitter and find out?

Exactly - I don't think LE checked the septic tank to being with. To check it and find anything would mean to drain it.

LE looked at the cover over the septic tank and thought there is no way Noah could get in there so there is no reason to check it/drain it- until they got the tip..

Also from your article:
Phillips says regardless of the size and weight of the lid most are buried, so you have to use a shovel to get to them and some type of tool to remove them from the tank.

"The covers vary according to who makes them but all the ones we use are plastic. The same size of a manhole, a circular lid. And they are all bolted down to the pipe that brings it to the surface with 6-10 bolts,” Phillips said.

Phillips says the size of a septic tank is based on the number of restrooms in a home.
He says while it's not impossible, it is highly unlikely a child would be able to remove a lid -- whether it is cement or plastic.

Sounds to me like he doubts Noah got in there " accidentally ". Sadly, I agree.

It says it was a 2 lb. plastic lid so I can see it feasable Noah could have removed it,but not get it back on. I really thought this could have been a tragic accident. However. If the lid was put back in place,I don't see it as possible. Didn't we hear in the begining that Noah was with another child? Has this been verified or discounted. If there was another child were they being inquisitive and it was a tragic accident. Could Noah have fallen in and the other child panicked and put the lid back?

Is there a presser due?
I can't believe this came from a tip?
So someone knew enough to call in and report it, wonder if someone seen some strange behaviour around the septic tank, I don't want to think someone witnessed it and said nothing for days.

Dang, this article states that the FBI had already removed a TWO LB plastic cover off of the septic tank, saw sludge and called the sanitation company to drain it. TWO LBS????? Sorry, I'm so angry right now I'm about to implode. I'll cool it for a few.

I'm trying real hard to zip it concerning my feelings on why it took 5 days to do what should've been done at least Monday or Tuesday. SMH

ETA Sorry hit post too soon. A tip implies someone knew he was in there. I was leaning towards accident until I read that.

Me too! Unless it was someone watching the search and they didn't feel it had been checked? I don't know what's worse, thinking this was an awful accident with his last moments being spent in a septic tank or that someone harmed him and could place his precious body there...God I hate these cases.

I'm the same here, quiet means there up to something, lol!

My three can play alone or together quite well, but I don't think I get past 5 mins without someone going
"Mum,I need you..... Mum, can I have"......... Mum, she said"......... You get the picture.
No way any of mine would leave me alone for two hrs while I nap.
I have two girls and a boy, my boys the quieter of the three, but i think that's just because the girls are drama queens lol.

That's exactly why I said in an earlier post that she probably didn't expect to be asleep for long when she laid down, because between Noah and the baby it's likely one of them would wake her up in half an hour or less. She was probably shocked when she woke up and realized how much time had passed. It probably is a good indication that he went outside fairly soon after she laid down.

Assuming the reported events are true, of course.
