Personally I think too many emotions play into why or why not parents of a missing child would or would not talk to the media or give an interview. Every reason has two sides. One reason to talk would be to get the word out but when you look outside and see nothing but news vans and reporters that point seems to be moot. Also I read an article that was posted here about an abuse case that happened some time ago and a reporter quoted Noah's mom in his article, who knows if she experienced any backlash from that, not that anything she said was inflammatory but we don't know, that could be a factor. They have an infant, is mom breastfeeding? if she is that could be a huge problem since in the press conferences they stated over and over the parents are distraught and panicked, is she able to feed the baby? more distress. I could go on and on. But I won't lol. I do feel somewhat better that I am not alone in my frustration over the comments being made about parenting skills! I raised 4 sons, they are 4 years and 4 days from oldest to youngest, they are all young adults starting families of their own now, I guess I should be surprised they are alive, aside from a rare much needed nap sometimes I let them play in the family room while I made breakfast, lunch or dinner in the kitchen, even worse I left them alone in the playroom while I went to make their beds!! I guess the only thing I'm not guilty of is spending hours on my computer while they were awake, I started doing that after they got jobs and cars.
