One of the admins posted on her page their behavior at the funeral was bad, they said they just wanted to get the ~bad word~ out of there. I'm sure they did, because officers were guarding them in sight at both the funeral home, and cemetary. I'm sure they suspected they would be arrested, because tests still would be coming back with results.

You would think Ashley's saddest day would be when Noah died and was thrown in a septic tank, or even his funeral.
BBM: who says that at their childs funeral... ugh... rot in hell to the both of them.

Lawyers and money.............since AW mother passed away............inheritance? and PRT parents are passed also......inheritance.
Do they own or rent mobile home? car? anything worth money to pay lawyers?

IIRC Heather Elvis went missing septic tanks were explored............wonder if the C's was?

I partly agree too... I don't hate them. I'm furious. But I won't excuse anything they did.

There is absolutely NO excuse for what happened.

I have thought this same thing. Why in the world put him in a place that he could so easily be found? Maybe they thought it would seem as if he fell in, but tests should be able to tell if he was alive when put in there. Correct?

Do you think it was because she thought she could divert the search by insisting he had to be abducted because noah "knew better than to go outside on his own"? Which was a lie, plain and simple. He probably would have been shocked if she ever actually came out to play with him or keep an eye on him. I know a lot of people would have been shocked. I think she put him close because, 1. They aren't that smart 2. She thought she could convince them to search elsewhere and 3. She didn't have the means to put him in a better place.

Appearing from the New River Valley Regional Jail, the couple listened as Judge Bradley Dalton of the Wytheville Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court read their charges. Pulaski County court was not in session on Friday, and Dalton said they have a policy to step in and help arraign people from surrounding areas.

Dalton alerted White and Thomas that several members of the media were present in the room for the hearing - and both objected.

“This is the saddest thing that’s ever happened to me in my life,” White said. “I don’t feel people should be able to enjoy it over dinner.”

Said Thomas: “I don’t want my life to be their news story.”

Dalton overruled both objections, allowing the media to remain in the room. In Virginia, adult proceeding in juvenile and domestic relation courts are public.

When asked if the court needed to appoint an attorney, White replied that she was under the impression Jimmy Turk, a Radford-based lawyer, was “already helping” her.

“I’m not aware of that,” Dalton replied. He proceeded to give her a temporary waiver to contact legal guidance, with the possibility of having a court appointed attorney available at a later date for her. Messages left for Turk were not immediately returned on Friday.

Thomas told the judge that he had already hired an attorney. It was unclear Friday who that lawyer is.

Thomas also asked during the arraignment if he could receive bond. But Dalton replied that he “can’t get one today,” and that will have to be scheduled with Pulaski County.

Both parents will have a preliminary hearing on Aug. 12 at 1:30 p.m. in Pulaski County Juvenile and Domestic Relations court.

Also: During their arraignment, the court will determine whether or not there is probable cause to certify felony warrants for the case to be tried in Pulaski County Circuit Court.

So now we know that this will happen at arraignment. In a prev article, it said something about the judge would decide if probable cause to go to Grand Jury and if so would be held in Pulaski County Circuit Court.

That is what the DA said yesterday.

No one did anything to her. She is where she is and going through whatever makes her sad etc due to her own actions. Felony child abuse and neglect of a defenseless 5 year old and little baby. Jmo

Amen!

In hindsight it seems like such a stupid hiding place but we follow all of these cases yet are now suddenly wondering how many other babies may be concealed in septic tanks. It appears that septic tanks are not routinely searched or if they are it isn't discussed in the media much so she may have hit on that fact before us.

Just a thought about the baby... I have been wondering what evidence they found to remove the baby the day after Noah went missing. Someone suggested maybe LEchecked hospital records and there was past suspected abuse not discovered/ or reported. Or maybe there were drug paraphernalia found in the house. And they took her for that. I just don't know the law well enough to know if seeing paraphernalia is enough to remove a child. But then it dawned on me... maybe she is breastfeeding the baby (God, I hope not) and if they suspected her of drug use, they took the baby because of the drugs in her system while breastfeeding. Just a thought....

I thought determining bail was supposed to be a part of the arraignment. Is it just because today is a bank holiday that it couldn't be done today?

Since many 6 month olds are at least somewhat mobile, maybe the baby was also mobile and unsupervised while she napped. I don't think most 6 month olds get up at 7 a.m. and then go back down for 2.5 hours at 8.
