Thank you for the update!! The way she walked into the courtroom just pizzes me off, like she's the victim
I know. Noah’s story in particular has stayed with me. Children go missing and wind up deceased so often, that sometimes you just (unfortunately) forget. But not sweet Noah.
I sincerely detest this woman, and I hope she gets maximum sentencing plus 10.

Me too, no more opportunity for pregnancies in her lifetime!!

HAMPTON, Va. — New trial dates have been arranged for the mother accused of murdering her two-year-old son.

Julia Tomlin will be tried for second-degree murder and felony child neglect starting April 12, 2021.

Tomlin's trial was supposed to take place on March 9 of this year, but her public defender called for a mental competency hearing which postponed the proceeding.

She appeared in court on July 8 via circuit court video for a mental examination where the judge ruled her fit to stand trial.

The trial dates range from April 12 to April 16, 2021. Tomlin, 35, was also charged with unlawful disposal of a body and child abuse.

Before the trial begins, there will be a hearing on July 21 to review her potential for bond.

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A mother accused of murdering her 2-year-old son was denied bond Tuesday during a hearing in Hampton.

The judge cited Julia Tomlin’s history involving other child neglect as well as the seriousness of the accusations in the decision.

Hampton Commonwealth’s Attorney Anton Bell, who believes Tomlin’s son Noah was tortured, said the move was best for the community and Tomlin herself.

“She is absolutely a risk to the community and a risk even to herself given her mental health issues in the past,” Bell said.

Tomlin’s defense attorney tried to get some type of bond for her, explaining she wasn’t a threat and the coronavirus had already pushed things back further than the defense would have liked.

Her attorney explained Tomlin has a history of seeking treatment for her mental health issues, in particular bipolar disorder, and would do so if released.

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Julia Tomlin, the mother of a 2-year-old found dead at Hampton steam plant in July 2019, will wait even longer for her murder trial.

Tomlin appeared in court via video chat. Her head was hung low most of the time., but she shook her head in agreement when her defensive team motioned to continue her case.

Tomlin recently got a new defense team, and they motioned in a pre-trial hearing Monday for a continuance so they could get caught up in the case. The judge granted the motion to push back the trial.

They say they were only assigned to Tomlin’s case three weeks ago.

The prosecution pushed back on this idea.

Hampton Commonwealth’s Attorney Anton Bell said the popularity and magnitude of the case should be taken into consideration when moving forward.

The court system shows Tomlin’s trial will begin June 21 and is expected to take five days.

Her trial was supposed to begin in March 2020, but it was delayed when defense attorneys requested a psychological evaluation. A judge then ruled last summer that she was “sane enough to stand trial” during her mental examination.

:( Oh noooo, it's so much worse than we ever thought:

Julia L. Tomlin A Virginia mother on Tuesday admitted to the horrific 2019 murder of her toddler, whose lifeless body she placed in an empty diaper box and tossed in the trash.

Appearing before Hampton Circuit Court Judge Michael Gaten, 37-year-old Julia L. Tomlin formally pleaded guilty to one count each of second-degree murder, felony child neglect, and concealing of a dead body in the slaying of 2-year-old Noah Tomlin. Prosecutors said the victim was injured so severely it was “as if a child had fallen several stories” from a building, Norfolk CBS affiliate WTKR reported.

From the link, it sounds like there was only an intact left leg and liver.
As if he was torn to pieces or dismembered ?
The forensic anthropologist should be able to determine if the injuries happened while Noah was alive and fully conscious. :(
Who in god's name thought it was a good idea to leave Noah with her when her other children had been removed and placed in foster care ?
Re. the bolded; Yes, she is a "thing" and a "monster".

In the past people used to term such low life's as "animals"; but animals care for their young and will fight fiercely to protect them.
I am so sorry for this innocent baby left to suffer unimaginable terror.
since his bones stopped growing, the abuse must have been constant.
MOO.

I think it's very unlikely that she dismembered her baby while it was alive. There have been some gruesome "stabbing" murders of babies but it takes someone literally insane or at least way past rational enough to clean up and try to concoct a story.

I get the impression that she took some time before she even reported the "disappearance" in which time decomposition had disarticulated the body and rendered most of it inconclusive other than one leg and the liver, or that the liver (for toxicology) and the leg (to show healed injury) was all that forensics used.
