I came across a FB post today that caught my attention. I live in this area and have never heard anything about this. There's very little info about them.

This is my first time posting a cold case. Any suggestions on how I should start to get more info? If I was to contact the poster, what questions should I ask?

Here's what I have so far-
https://news.google.com/newspapers?...AAIBAJ&sjid=DuQDAAAAIBAJ&pg=6805,614192&hl=en

Please feel free to post anything you find!

Thanks!

I would message the person that kept this article amd posted it to FB. If it is their keepsake- I'd want to hear why they kept the article.
My 1st thought with 0 research is: Did these people really die in a murder or go into WITSEC?
They obviously want feedback or wouldn't have posted the clipping on FB. But like you I'd want to gather smart questions first. I am not the one to help with this, someone will come along with the best questions.
Did you know the victims? Is a great starting point and the questions will change based on their answer to the 1st question.

Since this mentions he gave intel to vice I would say you could potentially also research local drug busts in that time frame (82-84). Given the amount of drugs they had in their home, the bust wouldn't have been small so it would likely have made the news as well. That may also lead you to some additional information. The couple could also have arrest records, maybe petty things, but potentially they would if he was dealing. I would also look for other news articles on both the vice case and the murder. Sometimes you can glean some nuggets from other sources that way.

Start with this couple and work out from there. Background check will lead you lots of places. And the address where they were found . Best of luck !!

Is it me or does this article seem to follow a ..oh drug murder nothing to see here..theme?

Agree. I can’t find crap on these people! Or the parents that are named in one of the articles. Charles City is very small. Country living. I have a lot of family there and they have been there for 40 plus years. And they know nothing about this case. So bizarre.

well the man wasn't from there, he had just moved there and it does say he moved there particularly to sell drugs in seclusion.

But I can tell you it is a shame, he was only 21 and his wife was only 17. They should have maybe investigated more.

He was 21 with a full time job and had bought his first home, and he sold drugs. His girlfriend was 17 so that could have been a motive..she could have had a stalker but this case maybe solved we just dont know correct?

Let's solve this!
I've been pursuing this case slowly for over a year now. I have think I have information about the case, but I am unwilling to share it until we can establish a crime occurred.

I've kept to myself on the subject as right now, we do not know the original motives of whoever kept the articles about the crime from the first post, or why they shared them online. My fear is if they are in WITSEC, we could be endangering them.

Spoke with police in both counties; No case is on digital record for anyone by these names as the victims. Charles City County officer mentioned they were a permanent resident of the area and had never heard of the crimes. Current theory is that if there is a file, it's not been made digitized, so this may require deeper digging and in-person involvement to finding a report of these crimes to begin with--if they occurred.
