That really makes sense actually.

I don't know - I'm looking at it again and an article of just a few days ago indicates mile marker 112, north of Ladysmith exit (which is 110). Looking at the map though, Ruther Glen (mentioned in Namus case file) is south of Ladysmith. (?)

VIRGINIA STATE POLICE – DIVISION ONE – CASE: 90-18696

ABOUT THE CASE:

On November 10, 1988, skeletal remains were discovered in the woods just east of I-95 north near the 112 mile marker in Caroline County, Virginia. The Virginia State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation, conducted a forensic examination of the area and recovered two sets of skeletal remains. No positive identification could be established for either of the recovered remains. A leather belt recovered from the scene has, "SILVANO" tooled into it. DNA from the remains was tested and determined that both sets of skeletal remains were Hispanic males. One between 40 and 60 years of age and the other between 15 and 30 years of age. See NAMUS# UP6301 and UP6507 for more information.

Not sure how recent this has been added, but both men have one rule-out (unrelated men):
UP6301: Thomas Gordinier DLC 1987, FL
UP6507: Jerry Plaster DLC 1988, VA
Almost seems switched, because Thomas is older than Jerry ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ may be automatic ruleouts

@Caring1 Could you mention the list of exclusions for both John Does? I have to assume it's a long list but I would really appreciate it if you do.

They both have only 1 rule out. bombardier listed them right above your post. I was with you in thinking the list would be long, it could be but only 1 exclusion is listed publicly for each.

Both are also still listed in NamUs as unidentified.

Police have not elaborated on the cause of death for both males, yet the case is being investigated as a homicide. It is theorized they may have been undocumented migrant workers, and some clothing items associated with the remains supported this possibility.

When investigators reviewed individuals reported missing from Mexico, no potential matches surfaced for either victim.

Funding has been raised to conduct genealogical research in the cases, although initial DNA samples collected earlier were not strong enough for traditional profiling.
