Sunsetgirl, I don't think it would waste anyone's time... I think they would let you know if a comparison has already been done and would compare them if it hadn't... they get so many I wonder if they take the time to automatically check everyone. You should try it and see what happens!

Thanks for your words of encouragement! I found a great post today on another thread about DNA comparison - basically, we cannot assume a comparison has been made just because it says samples are submitted or on file. I will submit this as a possible match. It can't hurt seeing as they've already ruled out 418! What's another one?

(This is gnsndr33's find, not mine.)

I think these are both good finds. The circumstances don't seem really likely but they don't rule it out either.

Small caveat with Lori: many of the features that make the resemblance so strong are in the areas where the artist guessed, the tip of the nose in particular. Some features of the lips and eyes can be estimated fairly accurately from skull measurements and the marks the muscles leave on the bones, but the shape and expression are estimates. So the resemblance might not be quite as strong as first glance would suggest. On the other hand, the bone structure and details like the long upper lip certainly match.

I would say they both should be submitted.

Thanks Carbuff - I was hoping you'd take a look since I suspect you have lots more experience with this ... I honestly don't know how to submit a potential match but can figure it out - unless someone else is willing/interested?

Re: height ... I also wondered if the 5'9" was a little generous - shoes found with the skeleton were a size 8 1/2 ... I realize there's no exact foot size to height ratio but I'm about 5'10" and wear size 10-11 ... just thought maybe the shoes are a bit small for someone that height

I don't do many submissions either. I'm mainly a bookkeeper :D I can make maps, too.

Did anyone send the names? If so which ones? Thank you

I left a msg w/the detective in charge of Kimberly Mullens' case - I'm hoping to get more info and his thoughts on her being a match (there may be details not available to the public that would rule her out) ... next week I'd like to reach out to the person in charge of our Jane Doe here - I can check to see if any of these MP's have been submitted but not yet ruled out (some may be submitted already but waiting on DNA comparisons) - if not, I'll see what he thinks about Kimberly & Lori.

I really don't think this is Linda Lunsford. She was a hardworking, down to earth woman. The only thing that sounds right is the Redskins shirt. The majority of Amelia residents are Redskins fans. If this UID is Linda, she almost certainly 'dressed up' by her murderer for whatever reason.

Also, she was a very tiny lady. Unless the 5'9" estimate is wrong.

ETA: She lived in Amelia County, but worked in Chesterfield. She probably would have had a 30 minute commute to work.

Also, since Linda was only 5'1" then size 8 1/2 shoes found on the UID is pretty big. I know someone who has bigger feet and about 5 feet tall, but that is unusual. I am five feet and I wear a 6 which is about average.

A new facial model has been made for this case....

http://patch.com/virginia/fredericksburg/faces-may-finally-solve-cold-case-mysteries-0

STAFFORD — A hunter found a bag in the woods containing the remains of a woman in the area of Witches Pond. That was 1998 and the woman’s identity is still a mystery.

It’s one of three cold cases in Stafford County that may finally be solved with new facial models.

I am still very new here..forgive me as I don't know the ropes yet.
I don't know where to post this...I also have been looking through Namus at my own state. What do you think about this as a match for Ann Marie Shaw?

Updated Namus link: Unidentified Person Case

There are 612 ruleouts. I'm not going to try to copy that list over :p If you can't access the list and need to know if somebody's been ruled out, I'll be glad to look it up for you.

Here's a recolored version of the FBI recon.
Her eye color, skintone, and clothing were assumptions.

She gives a very different impression in color.

Kim Mullens was suggested earlier in the thread. She is not on the ruleouts list that I could find. I did a side by side with your version of the reconstruction. Very close!

Revised my enhancement of bust of the Doe, this time it's in BW cuz colored recon might be misleading.

Apparently no new exclusions. The total is still 612.
