CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — A mother is searching for answers after her adult son disappeared a month ago.

The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help in finding him.

26-year-old Stephen Tyler Johnson of Campbell County was reported missing on April 16.

His family just wants to make sure he's safe and sound.

epilepsy. My understanding is that stress can make epilepsy worse. He's without meds. Not a good combination. Unless he's in a hospital somewhere and hasn't been identified yet. Do we know if LE checked all the local hospitals?

As investigators continue to stay on the case, a mother is still searching for answers about the disappearance of her son, Stephen Tyler Johnson.

It's a fight she isn't giving up on.

“This is the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced in my life," Christie Johnson said.

Her son Stephen Tyler Johnson went missing nearly a year ago.

The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office said he was reported missing on April 16, 2022.

“It's very concerning that someone could really just drop off the radar and completely go missing like this," Captain of Investigations with the Campbell County Sheriff's Office, Tracy Emerson said.

For Johnson, not a day goes by when she doesn't question where her son is.

“I pray every day to have this case resolved," Johnson said.

Sad update. Stephen has been located deceased.

The article lists Stephen’s middle name as “Kyle”.

Over a year later, Johnson’s remains were discovered in the woods, off of Light House Drive, on the morning of Nov. 18, 2023.

The Medical Examiner’s Office told WFXR News that his cause of death and manner of death was ruled as undetermined.
