I got in, his next hearing is 9/17 at 1pm for both “Murder: First Degree” and “Conceal Dead Body”.

It means the Grand Jury met, decided there is enough evidence of a crime, and voted to charge him with a crime. At that point, it's moved to Circuit Court.

Ah - an article this morning I received.

St. John murder case certified to grand jury

Judge Merritt disagreed pointing out that premeditation can occur in the instant that it takes to pull a trigger. She noted that a bone was broken in St. John’s neck and it takes a lot a pressure to break that bone.

Judge Merritt sent the case to the Middlesex Circuit Court Grand Jury, which will convene on November 26.

Keyser was denied bail and has remained in custody since his arrest on March 1 at the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center in Saluda.

Good article - it gives his confession.

I guess it's premature, but if/when this goes to trial after the grand jury, I wonder if they will seek the death penalty.
I read that Virginia only has three people on death row presently and has the shortest time between sentencing and execution.

Man pleads guilty to murdering, hiding body of 23-year-old Middlesex Co. mother-of-two

According to court records, Alvin Bernard Keyser of Topping entered a guilty plea for first-degree murder and concealment of a dead body on Wednesday in the Middlesex County Circuit Court, both of which are felony charges.

Keyser was charged in March of 2018 after he told detectives with the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office that he strangled TerriLynn St. John after an argument outside her home and then dumped her body in the woods.

Keyser's sentencing is scheduled for July 17.
