There is a man by this name who passed away in North Carolina who kind of looks like him, but I'm not sure if it's the same person.

I’m not seeing him either. I found an obituary for a TLA, 39, who passed away last year and I think resembles the MP. There are not too many details there, so I am not sure it’s the same man.
