I did not put the main theme of this post in the title, for reasons that will soon be obvious.

There's been a long-running urban legend that public school teachers (emphasis on public, as a condemnation of the system) can take girls to get abortions during the school day without their parents' knowledge or consent. Apparently this has actually happened in Fairfax County, Virginia, and what really got the investigation rolling is that school district funds may have paid for them! Most likely, if this story is true, the girls were pregnant by a teacher or other staff member, and they were doing this to cover it up.

So where's the "published report" that kicked off this investigation?

"The investigation follows a published report outlining these allegations"

This reminds me of the claims that a school put kitty litter boxes in the student's bathrooms for use by students who identify being a cat. lol

I'm getting walloped on another website for posting this story. Folks, I never said I believed it, and I won't until and unless it's proven true.

Here's another link, which itself has a link to the story in my OP.

Or, for that matter, gender reassignment surgeries at school? Or the Tide Pods challenge?

I find this super hard to believe.

Thanks!

Why is her statement dated November 19, 2022?
Have you seen anything reported on who was behind these 2 teens coming forward?

I'm confused.

Did the WCDispatch break these allegations with their claims of doing "investigative journalism"?

Yep.
The initial accusations came from WCDispatch.

snip:

"The probe comes after a report published by Walter Curt detailed allegations of school staff members allegedly facilitating minors to get abortions without parental consent. WC Dispatch, Curt's Substack page, did a deep dive into the allegations."

I never heard of WC Dispatch and I'm sharing info in case others haven't heard of it either. Take it for what it's worth. This is directly from WC Dispatch webpage:

The W.C. Dispatch, led by Walter Curt, is a conservative platform delivering sharp political commentary and investigative journalism. Focused on free speech, individual liberty, and accountability, the Dispatch challenges mainstream narratives with unapologetic conservative reporting.

Zenaida Perez is the teacher that claims she told the principal/school 7 times since 2022.
So for 3 yrs nothing was done yet Perez didn't know if the abortions that she claims took place were continuing to happen?
Why then didn't Perez go to the police like years ago instead of waiting 3 yrs and going to some conservative anti-abortion guy on his subtrack?
imo

Zenaida Perez is a "mandated reporter" so why didn't she immediately go to CPS in 2021 and report that the social worker Caroline Diaz and the school principal Chad Lehman, supported, arranged for and financially enabled a minor get an abortion without getting her parental consent.
Right out of the gate Perez should be fired and should face legal and professional consequences.

This is totally separate from her $$$$ accusations against Diaz & Lehman.

IMO

So far, every article (or "article" in quotes as some online sources are not MSM) is a repeat of the same information. This story is not moving forward and different outlets are not providing new information, so far.

I'm amending my comment to say MSM outlets are at least doing some reporting to move the story beyond repeating a press release. Journalists have asked the district for their written policy and received it.

7News also asked FCPS for its standard operating procedure for when a student inquires about an abortion with an FCPS employee. Here is the policy FCPS sent to 7News, referred to as Regulation 2504.

Although FCPS’s policy states, “every effort shall be made to encourage and support students suspecting pregnancy to discuss their concerns with their parents or guardians,” it does not require, or even suggest, FCPS employees should inform the parents about those conversations.

For starters who signed the consent form for this teen who was a minor to get an abortion?
This should be on file in the teen's medical record at the clinic.
Instead of Ms. Perez playing footsie with the school for almost 3 yrs, Perez as a mandated reporter failed in 2022 to immediately notify CPS and LE for this criminal act involving a minor.
Meanwhile Perez remained teaching at the same school she accused of orchestrating, signing off on and paying for a minor to get an abortion and encouraging another teen who was 5 months pregnant who didn't get the abortion and went on to have her baby.

If this happened, any "consent form" if required, would be at the clinic level, not the school.

If the school had a conversation with the student, the school is not required to tell the parent about the conversation. If the public is upset about that policy, then they need to work to change it. But, that's the current policy and you can't be up in arms about employees following written policy.

So, the questions are:
  • Did the student in fact have a conversation with the school. Is that part of the story even true to begin with? (If so, the school is not required to tell parents about conversations.)
  • Did someone at the school encourage or pressure a student to end a pregnancy?
  • Did someone at the school drive the student to the clinic?
  • And, overall, did anyone at school break policy, including the teacher, a mandated reporter, who doesn't seem to have reported correctly?
