Correct and the Health Dept employees are employed by the State of Virginia. They may have a contact with the schools. I would find it hard to believe the State of Virginia would sign a contract with a school system requiring them to violate state or federal law. But, I've seen worse. Look at Newport News Redneck school Vice Principal being criminal charge in the shooting of a teacher by a 6 year old. The NNPS has tried to have the civil case dismissed under sovereign immunity, the court ruled the VP was liable.

This is going to get interesting when the VSP investigation is completed. The state won't hesitate to take legal/criminal action, as they did in NNPS.

In no case shall personnel commit themselves to maintain such information confidentially, keeping it from parents, guardians,or appropriate school authorities.

Exactly and the public health nurse travels between various fcps schools. She/he works in the schools but is hired & paid by the health department. It’s confusing for sure!

I think the complaint in this case is that someone else counseled the student and made the appointment? I’m seeing it was allegedly a school social worker? I think they are school employees but i’m not sure. I haven’t interacted with them much in my capacity as a clinic volunteer.

Thanks for posting it. I misunderstood the post and apologize. I was expecting the policy protecting confidentiality, was shocked when I read NO protection. I feel reassured after reading the policy it does comply with VA Parental Rights Laws.

If the claims are proven valid, those involved have cleared overstepped and violated the School Board policy, as well as Virginia Law. The medical professional that preformed the procedure will be accountable to VA Board of Medicine. I did notice it was updated in 2019, so it's been around awhile.

I almost died from an abortion. I was 3o some thing . I lost a lot of blood , i almost died , my iron levels were tragic. It was a silly looking pill. I ate it .

Hmm. Abortion complications are not super common but they absolutely do happen so that part doesn't raise my suspicion. But it's hard for me to imagine there wouldn't have been some kind of criminal/CPS report from the hospital if a child presented to the emergency department with complications from an abortion her parents were unaware of. Luckily, it should be pretty straightforward for the police to get a warrant and either verify that or disprove it.
