VA VA- Unidentified 12-year-old abducted in Spotsylvania, 4 July 2013

  • #221
Just throwing out ideas, this will sound silly, but maybe the parent was tanked (severly intoxicated) on July 4th?

  • #222
Maybe the parent (single mom or single dad ) is away on a work trip and left the kid alone?
(again, just brainstorming, thinking out loud, sorry if I say something silly).

(If this is the case, then the child should be reported soon after the parent doesn't talk to the kid via telephone today?)

Ok I hope this is not taken wrong and I don't say it where it is read innapropriately but does anybody else find it ODD that the suspect has been described as HISPANIC with TWO TONE DIRTY BLOND HAIR???? Not to say it is IMPOSSIBLE but of all the hispanic people I know the men do not tend to 1) have blond hair or 2) dye their hair blond. I am thinking it could be a white guy with a dark tan (not unheard of right now in the middle of summer) who from a distance appears to be "dark toned" (such as a hispanic)

oh and sorry for the spelling error...I am a bit new to posting on here and can't seem to locate the spell check

BBM - I wanted to post this this AM, as I questioned why she would describe the man as Hispanic when he had dark blonde hair. I would have identified a person w/ that description as a tanned caucasian. However, after reading the description of the suspect in the Chantilly attempted abduction case, maybe he dyed his hair to avoid being detected?

Whether this is a hoax or an actual abduction, I appreciate LE taking it seriously. I hope it will show potential perps in that area that if they commit a crime such as this, the police will respond quickly and with all of their available resources. I hope.

Again, brainstorming, could the kid have maybe stolen this bike earlier and the person got ticked and tracked him down? (unlikely, I know).

  • #225
Maybe the parent has gotten a ransom call but is not sharing this information bc they threatened to kill the kid if the police are called?

Margarita.....your brainstorming is not "silly" and all thoughts are appreciated! Thanks for your thinking and hard work!!!

I had thought that maybe the families immigration status could be preventing them from contacting the authorities.

This makes me SO sad. It never dawned on me that parents could be so afraid of having their family deported that they may not inform the authorities if their child goes missing. I'd imagine this happens as well with not seeking help for severe illnesses or accidental injuries. :( It shouldn't have to be like that. Legally here or not, people should feel safe enough to seek help for their children.

Indeed possible. Good thought.

I really hope this is a hoax or a misunderstanding of a situation. My overactive imagination has gone into overdrive and now I keep thinking maybe the child hasn't been reported missing because the parent(s) has/have been murdered and not found yet. :(

Or maybe the parents sold the boy to the guy? ={ I hate even thinking that thought.

Could the kid have been riding the bike somewhere to get the tires fixed or buy a pump or patch? (Walmart, sporting goods store, bike repair shop, garage, friend's house?...) This might explain him not being close to home and not yet identified (still doesn't explain not being reported missing...)

I wonder if Lake Anna State Park and Marshall State Park are being searched, just in case? (Since there seems to be a lot of manpower and resources assigned to this case.)

What kind of living situation does this kid have if NOBODY has reported him missing?? No friends reporting that he didn't show up at a sleep over, no parent reporting that he isn't at home, nobody at all seems to notice that this child has been taken! There is no excuse for this. It's been 24 hours, right?

There is an Edit button in the bottom right corner of your own posts. :)

IIRC, the "porch" witness is a different person than the woman who actually witnessed the abduction. I'll try to find a link.

I'm cautiously keeping an eye on this reported abduction. It may be a hoax, but what if it's not? Remember the neighbor reports of the girls held by Castro? Also, the abduction witness description yesterday said "very, very slight". Wondering if that means malnourished? At this point my mind is taking me to many possible scenarios, none of which are good.

ETA-Sorry Hollye, just catching up. Saw you re-watched video and know there are multiple witness'.

5'1 and 70-80 pounds - that is a BMI of about 14 or 15! It is unhealthy and on its own is reason to worry about this boy!

This is the most detailed description I have ever seen. From the exact clothing of the child with a Justin bieber haircut to the height/weight of a Hispanic man with blond two toned hair, exact clothing description as well as that his pants were dirty, plus the vehicle info down to paint spots and decals. :O

Yet nobody saw even a partial of the license plate? That is an astonishing miss in this long and detailed description. Don't mean to be snarky, just have a hard time believing the story tbh.

Also from this link (http://abcnews.go.com/US/abducted-boy-report-fourth-july-prompts-door-door/story?id=19585411#.UdcY3_nVDEZ)

"We have not gotten any reports of a missing person and thus cannot rule out that this is simply a case of a parent trying to get their child into a car," Pearce explained.

"Even if this is only a parental or custodial situation, whoever knows the boy needs give us a call. Until they do, we are erring on the side of caution and treating it as an abduction," Pearce said.

Sounds like LE is giving it their all and doing a great job! Oh, please find this little boy!

Thoughts:

Maybe he looks younger than he is because he's so skinny.

Maybe he had run away in the past and his parents are thinking he will turn up again on his own.

Maybe he ran away and lied to his parents that he has a sleepover with a friend. (In another thread here on WS the 13 y/o girl did just that. Mother only realized she had run away 2 days later.)

Maybe ran away from a foster home and there are too many children and the foster parents are not on top of the situation. Maybe the other children are covering for him.
