OMG THAT WAS NOT FUNNY! I just about had a heartattack, and ran to my tv to switch it to HLN. :floorlaugh:

So did I! And I haven't watched HLN since Jean Casarez testified in the trial about the Juan Martinez "photo op".

I saw Patty Lovelace in concert several years ago and I was very impressed with her. I think she was the opening act for my boyfriend, George Strait.

CMA star! She came back to our small town, population 1,100, for several years and performed. :)

Has anyone here read the book, Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn? My book club chose that book to read and I picked it up and couldn't put it down. There are so many similarities between that book and this case that I was just gobsmacked. I was hoping that someone else would post something about the book after having read it. I could list the similarities or I could start a thread, which I am reluctant to do. If a thread was started so the similarities could be discussed, there could be a disclaimer or "spoiler alert" for those that haven't read the book, but would like to in the near future.

It is currently on the NYT Bestseller List for hardbacks at #8. Maybe I am crazy, but I was just wondering if anyone else had read the book and noticed the same things that I had.

I hate this waiting!
I haven't but I will add it to my list on my Nook. I am a voracious reader and I don't feel right unless I have at least a few TO BE READ.

Waiting fever is getting to Twitter too:

@RealtorAra: #jodiarias How IRONIC is it that the JURY ended up "MORMEN" than Women...Jus Sayin'

I'm so confused by this drink... can't decide if it sounds gross, or delicious. I'd happily try it, though!

It's pretty good but after the second one I cut out everything but the tequila line and salt

:tyou: I got a mental picture of Travis carrying Caylee on his shoulders while she just giggles.

Aww... I bet there are a lot of sweet little souls we all know from WS just flocking around Travis!
Caylee, Jessica Ridgeway, April Jones, sadly so many more...

I wish I could be a fly on the wall in that deliberation room. So anxious!

I am finally home and having an embarassingly early glass of wine......

I am hoping for an M1 verdict today, and while I am anti-DP, I understand it is a likely sentence, especially for the depravity shown in this murder.

I will breathe a sigh of relief, but probably won't celebrate a DP sentence when that phase is concluded. I will be glad for the family because this is what they want, I just can't rejoice over anyone's death. Nothing will bring Travis back and although I try not to think so negatively, knowing that grieves and saddens me. It's an awful sense of finality. How that terrible creature could sit in that courtroom every day and do anything but sob and collapse with remorse over her brutal deed is beyond me!

I voted that we would get the verdict on Thursday but am hoping desperately that I am wrong and it comes down in the next few hours.........more for Travis' family and loved ones than for my own sake, but I am a little selfish in that I want to know NOW.

that was my "killer" trial - the thought of that poor baby's handprint above the bed in the RV still haunts me!...I was so invested in that case that even tho the verdict was the one we all wanted I swore I would never watch another trial...I was wrong - I have watched other trials just not so invested. When I hear how passionate some of you are about this trial and Travis it remind me how I felt about Danielle...hugs to you guys!

another case where the victims's family was viciously attacked. the hatchet job done on those poor parents still makes the bile rise in my throat.

Way toooo slow. I did 'The seal is up' this morning

I have a weird mind. I don't know why I got to thinking about this right now. But here goes.

Woman vs. Man. A knife and a gun. I and I think most women would use the gun. It is quicker, more sure, pretty lethal (even a .25 if you shoot more than once.)

But there were many more knife wounds on him, and only one gunshot. Killing with a knife is usually considered more personal. With a gun you can stand back and shoot. With a knife you have to be right there, you have their blood flowing on you. Knifing is often times considered sexual in nature also. And she chose that the most wounds she gave him was knife wounds.

I don't know why, but that just struck me.

Jodi is a pro at knife skills, tire stocks have plummeted since her incarceration.

I once grabbed an autograph from someone who I had no idea who he was but since everyone else was getting autographs, I jumped in line too.

Does that count? :floorlaugh:

I met for eddy fender in person at a club once, I met the ink spots! At the same club and the coasters. Lol in my party clubbing days.

Wear gloves when you cut them!! :twocents:

Hubby and I got quite a laugh from your post. We are WELL aware, from experience, of the places not to put your hands after handling chilies. Especially in the restroom! :floorlaugh:

Why is that? I've been a juror a couple of times and we never came back the same day. We'd decide on a verdict, then slept on it. Come back the next day and fill in the paperwork.

In one case the first day we couldn't agree, went home, 2nd day we white-boarded all the facts, came to an agreement, slept on it, and on the 3rd day delivered a verdict (guilty).

I'm not worried at all....yet. If we get to day 4 or 5 then I'll be sweating!

MOO

Mel

I still can't understand . and yes I've also served on a capital murder case as the jury foreman with as much overwhelming evidence as this one . we got the case on a fri evening, deliberated for an hour, home for weekend, monday morning 15 min in Guilty .

Thinking back, it seems like a lot of verdicts have come at the end of the day. 3:00pm there. Still have an hour and a half. Travis's poor family must be on pins and needles. How hard for them to wait!
