If the jury has reached a verdict, I'm sure that the court would be kept open for everyone to convene. The jury stayed late one night last week so that the trial could finish by Friday.

I was friends with a woman that was in the movie "Jaws". She lived on the island and the movie employed many locals, she was in one of the crowds screaming on the beach. Unfortunately she passed from cancer.

If it's a possibility that Jodi returned the gas can to another Wal-Mart, then why didn't the defense team try to find proof? Please don't let the jury believe this nonsense!

why didn't nurmi ask the walmart representative that question? 'you don't know which store she returned it to, do you?'

he had no questions for that witness.

hey, even taking TWO extra cans of gas on a trip is ridiculous. she just wouldn't admit she had THREE.

What bothers me is that for every minute that ticks by, Jodi is saying to herself, "I've got this. I said all along no jury would convict me."

Has anyone here read the book, Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn? My book club chose that book to read and I picked it up and couldn't put it down. There are so many similarities between that book and this case that I was just gobsmacked. I was hoping that someone else would post something about the book after having read it. I could list the similarities or I could start a thread, which I am reluctant to do. If a thread was started so the similarities could be discussed, there could be a disclaimer or "spoiler alert" for those that haven't read the book, but would like to in the near future.

It is currently on the NYT Bestseller List for hardbacks at #8. Maybe I am crazy, but I was just wondering if anyone else had read the book and noticed the same things that I had.

I hate this waiting!

I just picked up this book from my local library two days ago, but haven't really started to read it. I've heard a lot about it, so I'm anxious to get into it!

I once grabbed an autograph from someone who I had no idea who he was but since everyone else was getting autographs, I jumped in line too.

Does that count? :floorlaugh:

Here is my big celebrity encounter...

Once I met Barbara Eden on a plane (1980?)

and

Once I had breakfast at a hotel about 6 feet away from Walter Peyton and his family.

Dwayne Cates on HLN saying the jury instructions are very detailed and made by lawyers and are not really meant for the average person...okayyy that makes no sense at all then why don't they change them to make it easier for the average person on a jury to understand?? He said most of the time juries can't understand what they say.

As you can see,I've never been a prolific poster, but I do read here lots. When I am stressed,I post even less and turn very much inward and just tend to think to myself. The last couple of months has been exceptionally stressful,my marriage has been on the brink of divorce.

But I do want to thank all of you for your posts, your stories, your humor, your love for the Alexander family.I am waiting (not so patiently) for a verdict.I am hoping that we don't have a holdout juror.I was really expecting a verdict today .Thanks to all of you for keeping me sane the last few months!

Hi all. Before I post I want to say that I understand and completely respect how posters feel under the pressure of waiting; nervous as get out and utterly on and totally on the edge. Now with that said (and my heartfelt and genuine hug for rose222),

I have to say Softtail made me laugh my azz off. You are terrible Softtail, typical onery and full of fun Texan (just like my much adored husband, best friend). But man you made me bust a gut!!! Which by the way I could not stop laughing I think I had a lot of pent up nervous energy.:scared:

Haha! Years ago, after The Beatles broke up, a friend of mine was at a music festival in Miami. John Lennon walked by, said hello to my friend, picked up her Pepsi and took a drink! He smiled, handed the bottle back to her and walked on. My friend sat there, gobsmacked. She kept that bottle for years! John Lennon's DNA...can you IMAGINE? :)

Wowsa! Oh, and congrats on 1,000 posts!
