No...respectfully -- its one or the other. Jury does NOT have to agree to both.
I swear that it what it is...:cow:
It its NOT BOTH

No, I didn't say they have to agree on both. But they do have to decide on both: 1. Premeditated; and, 2) felony murder.

If 6 jurors only think its premeditated, but the other 6 think it's not premeditated but IS felony murder, then the verdict will be 'guilty of 1st degree murder' (they can get there either way).

But they could also find her guilty of both: 1. premeditated, AND 2. felony murder. They have to decide both questions.

So, getting to understand the jury instructions (yes, it's confusing) could have taken an hour or two in itself.

The verdict sheet shows this pretty clearly, but I can't find it right now.

HTH.

I forgot that the Scott Peterson jury took 7 days... God forbid it goes on past tomorrow, but the thought of Laci ultimately receivng justice gives me comfort. I hope tomorrow is the day!

My fortune cookie a few minutes ago read: "You will soon be sitting on top of the world."

That I like!!! :please:

From the time the jury got the case to the time they returned a verdict was 7 days, but there was a holiday and weekend that week. They actually only deliberated for 12 hours over 3 days.

OK, honestly, not a big fan of the Hughes family. CH made a lot of money off the pyramid scheme that was PPL. Then, the whole story about Jodi hanging outside their door, and they were just scared to death, and worried about their kids all night? Really? Really? I would have personally kicked her derriere out the door. Ditto for Skye kicking her out and she remains in the house for an hour? No, no, that would never happen in my house. Jodi and Travis would've been out the door. My kids would always come first.

:winner:

That was Jean C not Beth.

Ah, that explains it. I was confused by the previous poster.

I don't trust anything Jean Cesares says. She flip-flops with the breeze, and usually comes down on the side of the defense.

Beth calls is like she sees it and isn't inflammatory for dramatic effect. I love her!

I agree with you. I am sick of the C&S H. I get their first few times on television giving their version of things with Travis.

I feel their 15 plus minutes of fame are up. I would hate my friends talking about me on all of these shows. Just too much.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion on WS and this is mine.

My opinion is, if I have to listen to anyone, I would rather listen to Chris & Sky Hughes any day (or Travis' other friends) then a person that inserted themselves into this case.

At least Chris and Sky were good friends with Travis, way before he was murdered.

Other people have NEVER even met Travis, yet have hopped on the 15 minutes of fame train!

The wannabes are everywhere in this case, they might even be standing right in front of you and you don't even realize it.

Thanks for this I hadn't read it. She seems desperate, which makes me smile. I wonder how she feels now that she's seen him in action.

I would think it would be tough to argue ineffective counsel when she begged the court to keep him on. MOO

Ugh...I hate her trying to sound all lawyer-y. Then when Juan was asking her why, for example, she brought up the pedo claim on direct if she didn't think it would help her case, she said "oh I was just answering the questions posed to me." All fake-innocent sounding. Jodi Arias needs to be put to death, sooner rather than later.

OH NO!!!!! Men in there 60's and 70's are the jurors!!!! BAD NEWS!!! My Dad is 64 and my granddad is 84. They have both watched the trial. Both lost interest in the "experts" testimony. Both said they couldn't put that lil girl to death. Both think Juan is disrespectful. Both say she wouldn't have done all that if she didn't have a reason to!

Im terrfied the jury consultants did there job just like in the OJ trial!

Respectfully, just because you have two relatives who feel this way, doesn't mean they are representative of the whole.

My father is 67 and would put this chick to death yesterday. I have a 64-year-old uncle, ex-military, who said that he'd volunteer to administer the lethal injection himself.

Try to breathe.....

Sorry if this was posted already. It was posted on Facebook on the "The State vs Jodi Arias ~ Travis Alexander murder trial" page.

"2011 hand-written letter from Arias to Judge Duncan, concerning the 'precarious circumstances of her legal defense'..." http://twitdoc.com/view.asp?id=9422...u2&doc=139833553&key=key-2gxotllz9sge8erm21fo

Thanks. After reading this letter, I have to say that Jodi writes well and knows how to marshal the facts to make her point. She is a vicious sociopathic murderer, but she is not stupid (even if some of her decisions seem like she might be).

If anyone is going to be at the courthouse tomorrow please give a jury clothing update! If they're dressed nicer then it might be verdict day, if not then we continue to wait. I need to get on the ball with housework so I'm going to try to focus on that until we are sure they have a verdict. My laundry is in a sad state of affairs!

Leave it to my son to confuse me by asking me if a murder fell under both categories, premeditated and felony murder. I hope I was correct when I told him that you only get to check one box, regardless whether it falls into both categories.

who truly have to live with their decision. It's a solemn duty and I think they are approaching it with due seriousness. They sat there for literally months and I'm sure they feel some need to actually review the evidence in light of the law and instructions and make sure they are not missing anything.

The good thing was I actually got a lot of work done today. I have my alert set so I can go about my business. There is nothing more to be done. It is in their hands and I have "let it go" and am satisfied to simply wait for their decision.

Don't be disgusted. They are doing their job and deliberating the case.

BBM: Coming from a lawyer, that question scared the beejeezus outta me...lol Very intimidating! hehe:blushing:

And the lawyer replies:

"DID I ASK YOU IF YOU WERE INTIMIDATED?"

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

That was awesome! I especially like Sandy's letter explaining how Jodi has helped other inmates with her singing and drawings! Ridiculous!

You can count on Wild About Trial to give the courthouse fashion report!
