I quite like the fact that the jury stated they would not be back until 10:00 tomorrow. If it were me, I'd be laughing about that fact alone. Think of how many times the jury was jacked around in terms of court time. It's about time they get to call the shots. I trust this jury.

Well, that's interesting. Perhaps they know that they will not need the entire time frame before they present their verdict to the Judge. :please:

I absolutely cannot stand Jean C. She's a meddlesome reporter who injects herself into a story instead of reporting it. She's no legal eagle, more like a drama queen shilling to keep herself in front of a camera.

Other than that I'm sure she's a lovely person.

ITA. Have you seen her YouTubeVideo? That kind of sealed the deal for me.

If this goes until tomorrow, every closet in my house will be clean.

Please, please, please let it be today!!

There was a time, early in the trial, when I had NO dirty laundry. I washed and folded everything I could find so my husband wouldn't think I just loafing around watching the trial. I finally quit pretending and just followed it without being interrupted by housework.

OMG! Same here. I had these damn harvest gold appliances for way too many years, thanks to my "handy" husband. I fried the dishwasher on purpose in order to get rid of the last "gold" appliance I had. My neighbor was my accomplice, LOL!

Fridge, washer, and dryer avocado green. All lasted between 25 to 30 years! New house and all new appliances and on a first name basis with repair man. He can find his way here with his eyes closed. May even start to invite him to family events since we see him so often. Fridge=more times then I can count. Microwave=3 times. We have one stove top and two ovens = 3 times. Washer= 3 times so just ended up getting new set. 6 months on them and no repairs to date, woohoo! Dishwasher=once. It has two drawers, one for large loads and one for smaller loads. Smaller load drawer is acting up so think we will be seeing a repair in the near future. I have to say that the days of those harvest gold and avocado green appliances running forever and a day our gone and were stuck with the stainless steel with the never ending need of repair.

Jean C. on HLN saying she saw the jury come out and said she saw a different expression on their faces - they were focused, so intent, she feels that they were at odds with each other and she saw an expression on their face like mild agitation

How come that differs from what Katie Wick said? Can we chalk it up to Jean C and her usual negativity? (I can only hope anyway) Jean C usually frustrates the heck out of me !!

A few things.

I'm going to be completely honest and maybe my view won't be a popular one.

1) If I was a juror deciding the fate of a defendant with a charge of murder and the penalty on the table was death I would FOR SURE want a night to sleep on my verdict. No matter how firmly I believed in my verdict. This is a very very very serious matter.

2) in terms of a public execution I would have to pass on that. I am not honestly a huge proponent of the DP. I do however think it's needed in certain cases. Having said that I believe this particular case warrants the DP.

But I don't think executions should be viewed publicly save for cases where crimes against humanity were committed.

1). You don't consider the punishment during the guilt phase. And she is GUILTY.

2) I would not put someone to death but I wish the States would consider a place of confinement that is solitary and away from the general population. She certainly deserves that.

I was be so upset if I was on the jury and there was one person who did not feel the verdict should be Murder 1. Can you imagine having one person that would not change their mind?

I think there will be a verdict tomorrow. I kind of agree with Beth K that that is the reason they're not starting until 10 tomorrow. I don't give a flip what Jean C says. She always, always leans toward the defense.

My aunt was on the jury of a very high profile trial here in my county about 10 years ago. A group of girls murdered another girl who they were all upset with over a drug deal. They drove her out to a deserted field out in the middle of no where under the assumption they were having a bonfire party. They shot her and left her there. No one found her for over a week. They deliberated for 4 days, but found her guilty of 1st degree murder. My aunt said there were various opinions among them all, but they all pretty much agreed from the beginning that it was 1st degree. They all listened to each other and took it very seriously. In the end they gave her LWOP, not death. My aunt said it was one of the hardest things she had ever done in her life. She said she had nightmares throughout the trial and for months after it was over and said that if you ever have another persons life in your hands, no matter what horrible thing they may have done, you cannot fathom what it's like. I'm not worried at all and won't be until about 3pm Wednesday.

Thanks, great post.

If i were on the jury, I could easily decide that she is guilty of murder 1. What I would be more uncertain about is whether or not it was a felony murder. That's mostly because I only started following this case a few weeks ago, and I don't understand the definition of it. I do believe it was premeditated. So...if I were on the jury, it would take some discussion for me to decide which way to vote: premeditated or both.

I look at the 10 AM start two ways. The are emotionally exhausted today, and need a good night's rest, or they are very close to a verdict, so why bother coming in so early tomorrow.

The felony murder rule isn't all that complex but it sounds like it is.

She is guilty of felony murder also imo.

She came to Travis' home and brought a gun with her and even if she was invited in beforehand (which we will never really know) she becomes an uninvited guest the second she starts to feloniously attack Travis. In felony murder one does not have to commit a theft. It is considered burglary because she was considered an unlawful person in his home at the time she attacked him.

And even if the jury believes she shot him with his own gun (I don't believe they think that for a minute) then she is guilty of a felony by using his gun in the commission of the murder and then stealing the gun and taking it with her.

IMO

So, JK on HLN just said that the jury left the building for today and she said they look a bit aggravated. Oh, dear.

Listen to what Beth says and ignore what Jean says

This is the best advice I can give you! :)

I believe every time NG talks about and makes a big fuss about those tweets Donovan and Jodi Ann get a real kick out of it, cause that's the kind of people they are, especially JA. As hard as it would be, it would be better to say nothing about it at all.

I sure hope this punk doesn't get a lesser charge.

A word of advice...do not listen to what JK has to say....just sayin..

Remember this guy...

After many months of testimony, it took his jury nearly 44 hours...

But they got it right....

And look where he is now...

:rose: We will never forget you Laci and Conner! :rose:

Sweet beautiful Laci and Connor, you will never be forgotten. Just brought tears to my eyes. Sweet Travis I pray you and your family receive justice in the form of a Murder 1 verdict. PLEASE get this right, jury, and show us that the justice system isn't completely flawed.

Well heck, I am going to have to put myself in TO and concentrate on work tomorrow.
I will have to wait on the text. I wasted today so now I am under extreme pressure.

I know! I have an exam to write next week and this is getting innate way on my studying!

Executions in the U.S. aren't for public consumption. There are witnesses from the prison and family members of the victim and the people the dead person walking chooses. There may also be a reporter? Am I right or missing something?

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh: I do have to admit after all they have been through it would serve the judge and defense team right if the jury played with them some!!

It's very easy for all of us to expect a swift verdict when our own shoulders will never bear its weight or finality. A jury should never be begrudged the commitment to absolute certainty before delivering a verdict.
