No fingerprints noted on the hammer and the DNA on it was only matched to Teresa Sievers, Van Waus said when asked by McFarlane.

Van Waus is done testifying until she is recalled later in the trial.

The state is calling its first witness of the day. It's Detective Jamie Nolen of the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

He's been with the sheriff's office for almost 17 years and was the lead investigator of the Teresa Sievers homicide for three months.

Assistant State Attorney Hamid Hunter the detective about taking DNA samples from Dr. Mark Petrites, who found Teresa's body on June 29, 2015.

Nolen said Petrites was not a suspect in the case.

Now Hunter is asking Nolen about additional testing done on DNA samples collected from Teresa Sievers' husband Mark, who is a suspect in the case.

The additional testing was not done on Petrites DNA, Nolen said.
