Fentress received a buccal sample from Jimmy Rodgers. She compared that DNA to the hair found on the blue jump suit.

The results were that the DNA sequences were the same.

Rodgers could not have been excluded as the source of the hair on the blue jumpsuit, she said.

For the U.S. Caucasian population it would be expected that 1 in 900 would share the same DNA sequence found in the hair on the blue jumpsuit, which matched Rodgers' DNA.

The investigation continued with very little leads, Lebid said.

That was until July 9, 2015, when a law enforcement officer called in a tip from Illinois, he said.

Lebid went to Jefferson County to talk with Curtis Wayne Wright in Hillsboro, Missouri.

This is very similar to the testimony given by Lt. Michael Downs on Friday, who went with Lebid to Illinois and Missouri in July 2015.

Teresa Sievers was found dead at the end of June 2015.
