We are underway at the
#RodgersTrial this morning. The first witness of the day is Myra Simmons, of the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
Simmons is an analyst since 2006 with the sheriff's office. She analyzes call records and does a lot of investigating of cell phones.
Simmons was asked to research if prepaid phones or "burner phones" were used by Mark Sievers or Curtis Wayne Wright Jr., she said.
She requested a tower dump for June 28, 2015, from a cellphone tower near the Sievers' home in Bonita Springs, Simmons said.
What you receive in a tower dump is cellphone numbers with date and location, Simmons said.
Simmons said she was searching for Georgia and California area codes in the tower dump.
She started looking at data from AT&T because Mark Sievers and Wright both had At&T personal phones, she said.
Simmons said she uses a software to analyze data from the cell dumps.
One of the Georgia area codes did come up in the data. The area code was 404, Simmons said.
Then a search warrant was obtained to get the phone records for the 404 Georgia record, Simmons said.
