Well, if they are on a dinner break, I might as well be on one too.

Think I will run over to Wendy's....taking orders:.....

Interesting note for long time websleuthers.....do you remember the Wendy's clerk who insisted she saw little Trenton Duckett in his car seat while she handed food to Melinda on the day he disappeared?

That is MY Wendy"s. I think of little Trenton every time I drive through it and oversee the strip mall where here boyfriend had a job.

He thinks because of the length of time they've been considering this compared to his own murder cases.

Edited to add I think he's frustrated because this is taking so long and he's now talking in circles and laughing.

ImO

So he's just joking. That sounds like him.

I thought you believed it WAS self defense?

I do believe it is self defense. He would be not guilty if I was on the jury. The state only proved to me with their own witnesses that there was no proof of anything but GZ using self defense.

Same thing.

No that's not what I said at all. I said some believe that while it is not murder, it is not justifiable self defense either. I don't think that's what scarlett believes...

IMO George Zimmerman was a bit immature. At his age he wanted to become a MMA fighter when he found out he wouldn't make it past the ropes he moved on to wanting to be in LE. When he found he wouldn't qualify for that either he volunteered to be a neighborhood watch person. He ended up costing HOA 1mil plus. IMO he sounded like a kid trying to make up his mind what he wanted to do when he grew up.

I disagree. I take kick boxing classes to stay in shape. I don't ever want to actually use it to harm a person, it is a fun way to lose weight imo. The MMA classes he took doesn't make him a wanna be fighter, it could have just been something he wanted to do to lose weight. He did lose quiet a bit of weight while doing them. I never heard anyone say he wanted to be an mma fighter, just that he took the classes to lose weight.

I don't know if you've read all of the things that are online about GZ. Including claims of molestation by a family member of his. He's no saint either. They both have unfavorable things in their pasts. TM's were committed as a teen and GZ as an adult. We should leave this topic alone for the sake of the Mods.

Just because people claim things does not make it so. I would bet that people on both side have motive to either ingratiate to one side or distance from one side to make themselves either important or less of a target.

Then you don't believe what I believe.

Self defense is defense to manslaughter. MOM made it clear that if they decided there was enough doubt in favor of self defense, then he must be acquitted.

Makes sense. If it was self defense that's it. IMO

Quick facts on manslaughter

Defenses to Manslaughter

In addition to the pretrial defenses and trial defenses that can be raised in any criminal case, specific defenses to the crime of Manslaughter are:

Excusable Homicide

The killing of a human being is excusable, and therefore lawful, under any one of the following three circumstances:

When the killing is committed by accident and misfortune in doing any lawful act by lawful means with usual ordinary caution and without any unlawful intent, or
When the killing occurs by accident and misfortune in the heat of passion, upon any sudden and sufficient provocation, or
When the killing is committed by accident and misfortune resulting from a sudden combat, if a dangerous weapon is not used and the killing is not done in a cruel or unusual manner.
Justifiable Homicide

The killing of a human being is justifiable homicide and lawful if done while resisting an attempt by someone to kill you or to commit a felony against you.

Self Defense

Also known as the justified use of deadly force, self defense is a defense to the crime of Second Degree Murder. Please view the Florida Self Defense section for more information.

That pretty much decides it. According to the law, not of murder 2 or manslaughter.

And so when he was on top of GZ he couldn't get away? Why was he shot in the chest and not in the side, the back, or whatever? TM was not being held down...it was the other way around. You can't make it what it isn't.

So while GZ was being beat so bad, his head being slammed against the sidewalk and Trayvon straddling him, GZ somehow had time to get his gun out and shoot Trayvon right in the chest. If Trayvon was that close you don't you think he didn't try to get the gun from GZ? If Trayvon was overpowering GZ, then Trayvon should have been able to get the gun away from his chest and point it away from himself.

Yep you jumped the gun, Doll. They've been deliberating all day lol...

WOW, I thought they went home therefore I unglued myself from this chair to do meaningless things around the house when I could have been here doing this :banghead: and :blowkiss: and :scared:... lol

I agree. Neither was perfect. And that is that.

watch the sarcasm please

  • #1,095
I hope the question they ask is "Is self-defense justifiable homicide?"

  • #1,096
I think it is too easy to answer in a way that can bias them.

If the judge is not careful, any answer given to the jury can be used to reverse a conviction on appeal. At the same time, the defense doesn't want anything said that would hinder a not guilty verdict. The court is walking a tight rope when talking to the jury during deliberations. MOO.

  • #1,097
At least they are going over things I respect that. I wouldn't want anyone to convict someone or not convict someone unless they were sure.

  • #1,098
I also heard him say in an interview that he likes this judge and has a lot of respect for her.

IMO

Of course he said that. What else is he going to say? LOL [ I am not saying he does not mean it, just saying... ]

I can't believe you chose to have a productive day instead of this.

I think that false report was a blessing for you! You got to go about your day without worry or suspese! lol...

  • #1,100
Fear? lol...okay

I sense a lot of emotion in your post. jMo

:twocents: Yes, I am very emotional about this issue because the issue of being able to defend one's self is very important to me, and is very important to many other people as well ...

Also, I believe that GZ was unfairly "railroaded" by "mob rule" and "media rule"... the laws of self-defense should have applied and not the "mob's laws" ...

GZ had every right to defend himself when TM attacked him ...

I support GZ and every one else's right to "self defense" when attacked ...

All My Opinion and MOO !
