I am deep in the forest of speculation here, but I wonder if a tip was called in about Amber's remains specifically. As in, by the killer. It would be pretty self-sabotaging, but that's not unknown behavior in serial killers.

If you take into account that the killer contacted MB's family and may have contacted another mother to see if she had reported her daughter missing, then it is quite possible that he was annoyed that no one had reported Amber missing.

No tip was called in about Amber.
DNA was tested - which led to her identity being confirmed.
Once the identity was confirmed - her address was known
and cops went to it and found Dave there.

It's as simple as that.

Kim never reported her missing. Ever. Very sad but true.

I think the riddle of Amber's DNA is much less sinister than that. My guess is that BB or Kim or someone else who knew Amber saw the news and called LE, and LE then went to someone to obtain her DNA for comparison. Having said that...I do think that ALOT of things annoyed LISK wrt this case. I'm absolutely convinced that it drives him nuts that bodies which weren't his handiwork ended up in his personal trophy case. Of course...that's mere speculation on my part, but I bet I'm right. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if he was pissed that no-one was actively searching for Amber. Part of the game for him, in my mind, is feeling superior...not just to the victims he kills, but superior to the families of the victims, LE, even casual passersby who never suspected what was right under their noses the whole time.

I wouldn't be suprised if he called them all in.

A hair brush of hers or lipstick or used condom could all be of use to detectives. How is DS these days? Still walking the righteous path (as my online friend TS put it, who a miss....smart guy he was)

Yea, because after all that time, I'm sure there must've been used condoms just laying around for the taking , right? J/S

Maybe there was. Who doesn't have an old dirty used condom behind the bed?

Who sold amber dope? There's someone who knows something but can't come to the cops.

What do you mean? What would her buying dope have to do with her getting into a car with an unknown man?
I mean most times when you buy drugs you go in/or meet some where get what you want. Pay the dealer and leave. Why would Amber's drug dealer know any thing els?

"Where are you? I have a "job" I am going to do in location x or with person x and will have a bunch of money afterwards and need to see you for dope"

See what I mean? She was a dope addict. Dope addicts are very calculated when it comes to scoring because that needle runs their lives and it has to be quenched often numerous times a day.

Yeah I see what your saying now. But, I don't know she didn't have a phone. And if she wouldn't tell her roommate where or who she was going with then I guess I kinda think she would of just waited till she got home to make her calls.

If she thought the person picking her up was well stocked, then there was no need to call another dealer.

According to the book she bought her dope at "Crusty Row" at Tompkins Street Park where junkies gathered, which would likely mean random street dealers. Apparently that area has since been cleaned up.

Where the hell is thompkjns hill?

Whoever said "she would have waited till she got home." Sorry, heroin don't work that way. Every single decision you make is centered around getting high or preventing yourself from getting sick. You know anyone with a dope problem or have you ever experienced it yourself? I'm not judging, but you gotta experience it first hand or witness it at a very close second hand to understand it.

To the person said "she would have told her roommate" no way....cause then she might have had to share.

Yes....yes I have dealt with, lived with, grew up with, drug addicts. I know first hand the hardtack of losing a loved one to drugs and prostitution. It sucks. And not all that uncommon.
To me from what I've observed from years of dealing with drug addicts is that for one you will never get the truth from them even if your their drug dealer.
From what I have seen with my own eyes is if a buyer starts to give the dealer to much info about someone els that is doing illegal activity is that they cut them off. They don't want to hear it because the less they know, the better. Besides that there is no dealer that actually cares about what their customer is up to or how they get their money. They just want their money. Unless if her dealer was her pimp. Besides that a dealer would be sketched out by this because it would leave them wondering what she is telling others about him. Dealers don't like people who talk.
From what I understand is that ALC and her roommate had accusations against them that they allegedly would rob men who came over to buy ALC's services. So that to me is a strong indicator that she shared her drugs and money with her roommate kinda like how they shared the phone. Not sure if he was her actual pimp but he pretty much acted as one IMO.
But none of that really matters in the end because I highly doubt that her client who picked her up that night was actually honest with her about who he was, where they were going, or anything.....I mean obviously he wasn't honest with her, his plans were to kill her. As if he told her told that before hand. So even if she did talk and tell her dealer about this mystery dude I doubt it would be of any use to LE considering it would have all been false information anyways. Kind of like the numbers he had called from don't really matter much.

I'm spitballing here, because catching up on Amber's thread makes me think about the whole scenario again.

The killer must have been somewhat charming or confident in his ability to persuade. He kept calling Amber back and having long conversations. So this is not a low-functioning Joel Rifkin type. This is someone with at least average social skills.

Charming, persuasive, someone with "stature"...and obviously someone with whom these girls felt very little fear. That they obviously didn't fear him gives us some MAJOR clues into his profile, imo. Think about it...if you were an escort, what would be some characteristics of a client that would cause YOU to let down YOUR guard? Here's my short list:

1. I'd seen him several times before, without incident.
2. He's someone prominent in the community. Some one well known or well connected.
3. He's non-threatening...either comes off as meek and mild mannered, or perhaps has a disability of some kind.

Or a small computer nerd type. Older man. IMO it would have to be the type of guy I could look at and think to myself can I take him if I had to or not...but that's just from someone who reads all this true crime stuff all the time. Maybe other girls don't think that way. But there would be no way I'd get in the car with any man unless if he looked like someone I could disable if I had to.
