I know some have suggested a connection between the wilmington murder of Allison Jackson foy and Amber's murder. It seems strange that Allison moved from Long Island to Wilmington and went missing and Amber moved from Wilmington to Long Island and they both are murdered. Has anyone delved seriously into a possible connection. Maybe someone who moves between Wilmington and LI could be the SK? There are other serial murders around Wilmington as well right?

I know this is an old thread. I'm reading back on some stuff. (I don't post here, just lurk from time to time. I'm reading some info on LISK because I'm from the area and I'm seriously starting to suspect someone I know.) There are some interesting theories here but one that I found really interesting was in one of the links that was shared. It was about the killer being someone who surf casts. Right across from where the bodies were found is the 4wd beach. There are several in the area. One down by Robert Moses. You must have a nighttime fishermans pass to get on these beaches. The beach down by RM only allows access at certain times. Unless the rules have changed, I'm pretty sure Gilgo's 4wd beach allows access at any time, day or night. In order to go on the beach you obviously need a 4wd vehicle. This would be a truck or camper. I've read that it was suspected that the killer drove a truck. This would make it a lot easier for him to transport the bodies. He could've dropped them off on the side of the road and then made his way to the beach to camp out for the night.

My person of interest (who is not an ex-husband or ex-anything) has a LOT of coincidental connections to the case. For starters, he resides in West Babylon, very close to where Amber Lynn Costello lived. The day she went missing was a very significant day in his life. The day before ALC went missing, he posted a status on Facebook saying that he was "lurking about" (sept 1st) then she goes missing in the early morning hours of Sept 2nd. He frequents Gilgo beach 4wD beach regularly and often camps out there by himself at night and surf casts. He had connections in the Massapequa area which is where some of the calls were traced back to. But also has connections to the city seeing that he's a truck driver and works for a building supply company which may also supply burlap as it is used for sand bags. Keep in mind, landscapers and builders also use burlap.

There are many more connections but I'll keep it limited here. This person is totally random and so no one here would know him. What I will say is that I don't think the killer definitely had tons of money. He could've promised the girls large amounts of cash but with no plans to deliver since they were going to be killed anyway. He obviously did tons of planning prior to these murders.

Great questions. I have answers for most and don't worry. I am not uncomfortable answering them. If there's anything I am uncomfortable answering, I will let you know and you can private message me.

Anyway ok so I grew up in the area. Well about a 20 minute ride. I have driven past the dump site countless times in my life. I followed this case pretty closely as it seemed to be happening in my own backyard. I also have knowledge of the beach rules, and lay of the land. I'm assuming you've all seen a map of the area. And can see that their are bodies of water that run along both sides. Ok so to get there from the mainland, you must cross a set of bridges. Nassau folks use the Jones beach bridges (west) and Suffolk uses the Robert Moses bridges. There are two sets of bridges on the Robert Moses side as there's a small overlap in the land and and inlet where the Atlantic dumps into the Great South Bay. You must cross a second set of bridges to get to the inlet and. The 4wd camping/fishing beach is called Democrats point. That's borders the inlet.

The killer had to have come from the Suffolk side and only crossed the first set of bridges to end up on the Ocean Parkway, heading west because the bodies were found north of the HWY and west of the bridge (and oak beach where Shannon Gilbert was found). This tells me he did one of three things. Either he dumped the bodies and drove all the way into Nassau to the Jones Beach bridges (which is quite a stretch), crossed over and took a different highway home or he could've used one of the police lanes or turn abouts to get to the east bound side or he went to the 4wd beach. I always wondered why he picked that exact spot. I fell that he left those bodies in that spot for a reason. There's a long stretch of beaches land there that's identical to the area that he left the bodies. It seems he wanted to leave them far enough away from the bridge but not all the way out towards Jones Beach and so I'm ruling out that he took the JB bridge back. (I'm talking about the gilgo four girls; not the rest of the people). So why leave them at Gilgo? It would only make sense to me that he was leaving them there before a turn about to either go on the 4wd beach or back to the Robert Moses bridge and so that's where I got that idea from.

As for the times of the beaches. I actually had a pass to the 4wd beaches back in the day. My exbf and I spent just about every night out there one summer. It's really fun. You are required to have a pass and specific equipment, such as a tow rope, wood boards, fishing poles, a container for bathroom, etc, etc. cops wouldn't be suspicious of they pulled someone over and they had tons of stuff on them. democrats point (which I spoke of earlier) is the beach with the most restrictions. You are only allowed to enter after a certain time at night (let's say 8:00-9:00pm) and I believe up until maybe 7:00-8:00am in the morning. You cannot enter during the day. From what I could remember, Gilgo allows all day access. Gilgo beach is located on the opposite side of the highway from where the girls are found. A few 100 yards away is the parking lot for regular beach goers. (I will share some screen shots in another reply). Beach goers must park and then use a tunnel that goes under the highway to cross over the highway, onto the beach.

I agree that the killer is someone who is completely off the cop's radar. I do not believe all of the girls were killed by the same person. I believe the GB4 and possibly Jessica Taylor, was one person and the rest were another or others. It's not that coincidental that many different killers would use that area as a dump site. There have probably been hundreds, if not more, killers who have used sites like the Hudson River or the Pine Barrans out in Manorville, to dump bodies. The Gilgo site is an attractive site because there's pretty much NEVER anyone actually in those areas. There's no reason whatsoever for a person to be near where the bodies were found. I sincerely think by now that if it were any of the suspects that we all know of publicly, they would've been arrested some time in the past few years. Police would've made a connection by now. There's no way that this guy is killing all of these women and living completely by the book in every other sense.

Anyway, to answer your other questions, the significance of the date is kind of a long story. In short, he was sort of the neglected child in his family. His sister was the quintessential golden child. Their parents loved and adored her. She can do the littlest thing and her parents will make a big deal out of it. They were total stage parents and devoted all of their time to her and her interests. There is over five years between them. He sort of got the $h!t end of the stick. He was the scapegoat, the black sheep. His parents often put him down and were constantly saying negative things to him. Two total opposite ends of the spectrum. There is a total jealousy/competition thing going on with him and the sister. Well sept 1st the day Amber went missing, he posted a vague FB status that he was "lurking about". Lurking to me means they're either waiting in the shadows to attack or they're online lurking. Amber goes missing in the wee early hours of Sept 2nd. That was the same exact day that his sister was due to give birth to her first daughter. Now that in and of it self may just be a coincidence, but about a few months prior on June 5th or 6th (I've seen conflicting dates) Megan Waterman goes missing from a hotel in Hauppauge. Hauppauge is only about a ten minute drive from West Babylon. You can be there in no time at all. Well, two days prior to Megan's disappearance, his sister was married. These could be total coincidences that these women went missing on those days but it's weird to me. He is very jealous of his sister. She was growing up and accomplishing goals before him. Her career at the time put her in a sort of celebrity-like position. She was getting married and having a baby all while he was still living home in his parent's basement, single and without any prospects of advancement in life. A few years prior he was arrested for molesting a young girl. He was never convicted or served any jail time because the girl's parents dropped the charges prior to the trial. He was indicted by a grand jury though.

He has a pattern of negative behavior and I believe it's because when he does negative things, it's the only way he gets the attention he wants from his parents. I also think it's a way to vent out his frustrations of always being the bottom feeder. Please know that my suspicion of him isn't solely based on these two odd coincidences. There are MANY more things but I cannot get into all of them. They could all be coincidences. I don't know. What I do know is that I cannot make these connections with any one else that I know in my life.

To let you all know, I passed the info on to someone who has contact with the case detective. I hope he really did pass it on. I have no solid proof. Just a set of circumstantial coincidences.

Second map is going to show the bodies in relation to the entrance to the 4wd beach. if you note where the two lanes sort of merge together, you cannot simply stop and cross over there and make a turn into the beach. You actually need to drive past the parking lot (in map one) and go into the turn about.



Third map shows the first turn about after the dump site. Whether or not the killer frequented the beach or not, there is only two ways to get back to the mainland. It's either drive further west and cross the other bridge (going completely out of the way) or turn around right here and go back over the same bridge you crossed to get there.



To me, the killer did exactly that. It just wouldn't make sense that he drove all the way down to the jones beach bridge and then back on another highway. It's possible but not sensible. If you google earth or google map the area and take the highway all the way down to Jones Beach, you will see that there are plenty more areas that he could've dumped the bodies. Areas, where there's even less of a chance of it being found. He dumped at Gilgo for a reason. Either Gilgo holds some significance to him (i.e., it's a place he spent a lot of time at or possibly had a bad experience at, or he was doing it because it was the first feasible spot after the Oak Beach houses but before the turn about to go back to the Robert Moses bridge.

At night, Ocean Parkway is basically a ghost town. Years ago my ex-BF and I rode his motorcycle down there at night during the summer. We were the only two people on the road. We crossed both sets of bridges and when we got to the other side, we were greeted by a cop who told us we weren't allowed down there. We the. There's really no reason to be on the ocean parkway at night unless you're a resident of oak beach, or one of the other homes on the strip (which there isn't many) or you are going to one of the night fishing/4wd beaches. Other than that the occasional motorist mag just be taking a ride down that way for the hell of it. Just to have a peaceful ride and be the only person on the road.

Wowee!! what a wealth of information you have shared with us notorious. You painted the picture of the area beautifully with your maps,details and explanations for your reasoning. I live on a small island much smaller than LI so it's been difficult for me to envision. I think because LI is so big and it runs E to W whereas the island I live on runs N/S, I am directionally challenged, haha! I had no idea of the tunnel from the parking lot to the beach.

Don't worry about the moon stuff. I try to narrow things down by asking, Where? What? What types of things go on in the area? When? When did this happen? Time of year? How? How did these women die. How did they end up in that location? What was found with their bodies? What was the weather and moon phases? raining, cloudy, new moon, full moon, crescent, what time did it rise and set? was it a dark night? rainy? Hopefully this will lead us to some of the person's characteristics and who. etc and so on and so forth. The time of year the GB 4 went missing is what led me to believe it's someone who fishes or just spends a lot of time on the beach. And fisherman keep up with the weather conditions, winds, moon phases,constellations, etc.

The living out of his parent's basement fits my profile too. He has some tech skills. Can you give us an age range of this dude. Does he drive a box truck, 5 ton, 18 wheeler? do you know if he has connections or drives a route to AC or Daytona with his job? I'd love to know what this guy was up to Mon. 7-9-07 Maureen last seen, and Sun. 7-12-09 when Melissa was last seen.

Another local. I think you're right about the dem times. I haven't had the pass for years as I sold my truck a long time ago. I believe the police theorized that the killer may have driven off to jones beach. No way. That's just stupid. I think he either went to the beach, or turned back around to go home and clean up the rest of the evidence.

My POI isn't from that area but was living there at the time of the murders so I don't know if you'd know him. Did you attend WB high? I know some people who went there.

Notorious, you said your POI may be responsible for the GB4. Possibly Jessica Taylor. JT was killed in 2003. Whoever killed her probably killed JD #6 in 2000. She was dismembered like JT. Body parts left in Manorville and Ocean Pkwy like JT. How old was your POI in the year 2000. Was he old enough to start killing. Some killers start in their late teens.
