And Tanya's head. Some victims were found in two counties, due to the dismemberments. Like KV and TJ.
Btw, Karen’s torso is still missing.
I love that we're getting to see enough of DA Tierney to understand how he does things. A classic example was fairly recent when asked about "Peaches", he paused and composed his words before speaking, to the effect "I don't think they've been publicly identified yet."He has actually been charged in all three of these homicides now, though they played it very close to the chest on all of them up until the charges were officially filed. (Maybe that's what you meant, but just wanted to clarify.)
Apparently, TDJ was found in two containers: the green tote and a black plastic bag. Which suggests to me there was a third container. I've just read that Joel Rifkin put a head in an old paint can.The thing that sticks out to me is that it wasn't her torso that was found on Ocean Parkway, but her arms. (And potentially her head, at one point. There was a massive hurricane on Long Island in 1999, Hurricane Floyd, that could have potentially have swept away her head and Karen Vergata's arms, which were also never found, although that's some very major speculation on my part.) For both of RH's known dismembered victims, Jessica Taylor and Valerie Mack, it was their heads and arms (and one of Valerie's feet, presumably because it had her tattoo on it) that were left on Ocean Parkway.
The chances that two people would dismember victims, even in such a similar manner, are decently high. That they would both leave the same body parts on the same barrier island and the torsos and legs elsewhere? Okay, weird, coincidental, but possible. That one of them would leave a victim (Valerie Mack) 200 feet from the victim (Tatiana) of the other? Starting to be a lot less likely. Then add in the search terms in RH's search history about Black women and the fact that his HK document specifically references "clues" that were left near Tanya's body and it starts getting pretty suspicious.
Is it still possible he didn't kill Tanya and Tatiana? Yes. Until we know what the police have or they make a charge or arrest, I don't think anyone can say he did it or didn't do it. But looking at what information is currently available to the public, it seems pretty unlikely someone else killed her.
Thank you, I’m having trouble navigating the forum and threads since the site was updated. I went away too long, I guess.Sandra Castilla was found murdered in late November 1993.
Reports say TDJ/Peaches served in the Gulf War which occurred between August 1990 and February 1991. It seems that something is off with her dates of service because 93-95 does not coincide with the dates of the Gulf War. Also Tatiana’s age barely fits in that time table. Do we know where Tatiana was born?![]()

Jackson served in the U.S. military from July 1993 to February 1995 in Texas, Georgia and Missouri and was living in Brooklyn at the time of her death. She worked at a doctor's office, possibly as a medical assistant, officials said.
-.-.-
I stumbled over Peaches profession, and I'm now thinking of AE, working at a Hospital ...... No further details available at the moment (memory deficit), but I will search for it. It makes sense for me, if there PERHAPS was a connection, which led to RH in a detour.

REX and his attorney have been in Riverhead court alot recently...questions on dna and testing in a new manner...irrc....its possible that thats why Tierney was so careful in his wording to not throw more evidence into a pool of challenged evidenceI love that we're getting to see enough of DA Tierney to understand how he does things. A classic example was fairly recent when asked about "Peaches", he paused and composed his words before speaking, to the effect "I don't think they've been publicly identified yet."
So, he told us they knew who TDJ and TMD were but the announcement had not yet been made. He also told us the counties were exchanging information and working together or he would not have known since he's Suffolk County and the case is in Nassau County.
Yes, he plays things very close to the vest. No speculation. He speaks only when they have charges, only when they're sure.
Old-time newspaper editors had the same creed. Everyone in town might know a bank employee (for instance) had been discovered embezzling and fired. The entire town might be buzzing, were probably thinking the bank president had gotten to the editor to hide things, but until charges were filed the editor would not print a word of the gossip. Working backstage, you would come to know that the editor had a reporter checking everyday to see if charges had been laid yet because the editor didn't want another publication breaking the story. And so it is with Tierney -- only when they can back up their knowledge with something concrete, only when they can go public, only then does he speak.
Until then? Carefully chosen words that don't lie, don't confirm, but dance around to be interpreted.
There's a pay wall so if you can get in the site would you copy some info? This Newsday story has interesting info.
While Titana was born in Texas in 1995, it seems the father was in Brooklyn - with them? - leaving Brooklyn only in 2000.

If Tierney does have the evidence he could bring it before a Grand Jury and if RH is indicted Tierney can sit on the indictment.very true !

With everything, the towel, the flowered wrap and that Rubbermaid container as well as trash bags, all types of objects that easily pickup hairs, it would be extraordinary if there wasnt some good evidence attached to those items.I have seen it mentioned that Tierney is waiting for the hearings in RH's case to conclude before he comments on Tanya and Tatiana's identifications. It makes me wonder if Nassau County may have similar DNA (rootless hair) from Tanya's crime scene, but are waiting on the results of the hearing before having it tested. Until Nassau knows that evidence will be admissible in New York courts of law, perhaps they can't justify the expense.
I also get the feeling that investigators have not found anyone who knew Tanya during the last years of her life, outside of her estranged family - hence why they "suspect" she may have worked at a doctor's office and had a babysitter, but can't say for sure. That would also explain why the only photo they've released is from her army days - I imagine she would have looked quite different as she grew older and adjusted to civilian life, but perhaps that photo is the most recent one her family can provide.
