anyhoo -- the Vietnamese authorities know the eyes of the world are on that little corner of the world and they won't want to turn him out any more damaged good than he already is.

they have a tourist industry to uphold and they won't want the foreign press pointing fingers at how foreign nationals are treated in jail, IMO.

He will do Vietnamese jail o.k. because money talks.he will grease palms along the way.This is his second jail stint so he is probably not worried.Anyway, they put young street kids in these foul jails for begging and petty theft so....He is a real creep.Was'nt he kicked out of Brazil or Rio before he went to Asia.They really need to clamp down on child exploitation in Asian countries.I too cringe when I hear his music.Years ago I had a friend from London who was best friends with him(Paul Gadd) she told me he was really odd and into strange stuff about 20 yrs Ago.So when i saw he was a **** it did not surprise me.

Apparently Vietnam doesn't want to become a sex tourist destination like Thailand, which explains the prosecution. The last thing they want is AIDS to go through the roof like it did in Thailand, etc. However, even though they are opening themselves back up to the world, remember that the people running things over there are former VC. And they clearly don't want tourists coming over and feeling like they can commit crimes with impunity on their soil. Most of the tourism in Viet Nam comes from Japan, Mainland China, Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, etc. While they may want Western tourist dollars, they still don't like us round-eyes terribly much. So I can imagine how a rich capitalist pervert who came to their country with the express intent of defiling their children will do in their jails.

I don't know about Brazil, buthe was given the bums rush from Cambodia, although no one will say why. Oddly enough, a lot of these pedophile paradises might look the other way boys & men, but it's another story if the adult men are going after female children who are NOT otherwise prostitutes, which seems to be Glitter's predilection.

scary to know street boys are in that jail. it was reported that the disgusting images he had downloaded on his computer included boys.

It's possible people haven't seen the 'details' of this case which were heard in the court. for those of you who can stomach it, here are some, but i warn you, it's really very unpleasant. i provide them for anyone who hasn't taken seriously my recommendation that you should protest at any stadium which continues to play his 'rock and roll' hit during events and thereore sends royalties to him giving him money.
again, a warning that this man is very sick and what he had young girls do for him is "SICK", a the judge said.

I only know what i have read here regarding conditions.There are lots of aussies in Asian jails for drug related offences.Yes, they do give you food but not alot and of a really poor quality.The jails are squalid at best and it is a dog eat dog situation.If you have cash behind you and connections outside then they can bring food in to be cooked on little camp stoves.There is an aussie there at the moment faceing execution for drug crime.I hope Gadd does not do it easy but i suspect he will be deported back to Britain.:doh:

They said he will be deported back the minute he's out of prison, and it appears he may be facing crimes over there as well. When and if he comes out, he'll be physically broken. Couldn't happen to a nicer git.

The "manufacture" wasn't aware of glitters past. But how do they NOT hold accountable their marketing company who put it together in the first place?

Makes me puke when that RANT HEY song is still used. The NHL LONG AGO BANNED IT.

Hi FLoh, we can only hope Mr Gadd does not see the light of day for quite some time. Now we just need to stop his royalty checks from all of his music and that would be really great. When he gets out coke & kiddies would be off the menu due to lack of funds! I'm sure teh marketing company was held accountable--in the sense they no doubt have lost that account, since it required the parent company to pull (very) expensive ads.
