Bryan Gomez was reported missing on July 6, 2010 after not being seen since June 10, 2010. Bryan was reported by a neighbor after not seeing him for a few weeks and after the initial report his case worker called for a welfare check, as they had not heard from him since June 1, 2010.

Cavendish, VT- A human skull discovered in 2020 in Cavendish has been identified through DNA testing as a man who went missing ten years earlier in the summer of 2010.

Police say the remains were revealed to be Bryan Gomez, from Cavendish, who was 48 years old when he disappeared in June 2010.

The skull was found by a hunter in the woods in Cavendish in November 2020. Forensic examiners were able to compare the DNA recovered to that of Gomez’s siblings, and they found strong evidence of a relation. Earlier this year, the Vermont Chief Medical Examiner’s Office determined the evidence was strong enough to identify the remains as Gomez.

A press release issued Monday says, “The Vermont State Police thanks the individuals and agencies involved in the search for Mr. Gomez over the years and the work to positively identify him, and expresses deep condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Gomez for their loss.”
