@Mistyjks He had a younger sister, and a lot of friends in the rural area of Vermont where he was from. I wasn't close to either of them, but have friends who were.

I will submit him.

while I was browsing Ancestry, I came across this Vermont Certificate of Death dated 1 Dec 1993 for a Fletcher Bennett Coleman Jr. (DOB 26 Dec 1934).

In the comments, it states “Disappeared 3/12/78”, not heard from since, presumed dead”. It is unclear where he was last seen, but he was declared deceased in Chittenden County, Vermont.

There is not a NamUs casefile for him, and I can find no indication that he was ever found. His mother’s Aug 2001 obituary lists him as a surviving son (not unusual for a missing person), which would seem to suggest that as of Aug 2001, he had not been found deceased.

I don’t know if Fletcher Bennet Coleman Jr. was ever considered as a potential identity of UP12366 (Partial skeletal remains found in Chittenden County VT on January 3, 2011, with an estimated year of death between 1975 and 2011), but if not, he should be.

I emailed Lori Bruski to call this to her attention. Even if he is not a match to UP12366, perhaps he should be listed in NamUs. It wasn't until after I sent the email, that I realized it was a DDP case. So I let them know too. Whenever this case comes online, the volunteers working the case might want to keep him in mind if the ancestry points his way.

Apparently he was into theater and acting. He attended Illinois Wesleyan University in, at least, 1957.

Judging by the description in this article and the photos of him in 57 (along with the information on his death certificate) I figure this must be him. It would place him in Dorset in Dec 1977.
10 Dec 1977, Page 9 - Bennington Banner at Newspapers.com In this article he’s described as a new-comer to the Dorset stage.

I don’t know why this didn’t occur to me sooner, but could this have something to do with these missing people? 5604DMVT - George Gregor Nikita

I researched Nikita awhile back and even though it happened in 1971 I think it’s possible.

Oh, interesting! So, we just submit our Gedmatch? I will do it, if it may help. Would be amazing if they are able to identify based on such a small part of someone. I hope they find this person's family.

Also, where do we find the spreadsheet? I would like to follow along, but did not see a link after submitting. Thanks!

Fascinating. I lived in Burlington in the 1980s and never heard about "Little Jerusalem".
Here's a bit more about it:

Little Jerusalem is the historic Jewish quarter in Burlington. The neighborhood was located in the city’s Old North End and was particularly vibrant between the 1880s and early 1900s.

“A large group of Jewish immigrants came after suffering for more than 100 years. They established the core pieces of a community. So, you had synagogues, Hebrew school, we’re sitting in front of the Hebrew school that is built by the three synagogues in 1910,” Goldberg said.

Another source:
In the 1880s, a group of families from Kovno, Lithuania, escaped persecution by emigrating to the United States. They settled in Burlington, surrounded by a landscape that reminded them of home.
