Judge forecasts murder trial for Florida doctor in a year

BRATTLEBORO — The trial for the Florida doctor charged with the alleged road-rage murder of a Massachusetts truck driver in Rockingham in 2019 probably won’t take place until next year.

The judge has estimated that the trial will take place in spring of 2024.

She could not discuss why but a week later I found the news story. To think I took myself and my parents to this man for medical care still scares me.

Honestly, he seemed as normal as a doctor could be, which made me feel even worse after the fact. There were no signs. Not even a little bit. Even looking back I cannot pinpoint anything abnormal about him. As far as I knew he was a well liked medical professional in the area and was recommended to me by several of my new neighbors, who I’m sure after the fact, felt guilty for recommending a murderer as a doctor.

His temperament seemed patient. My mother has MS and can be a bit slower with her speech and he never seemed temperamental or impatient with her when she struggled. He always waited for her to be able to finish her own thoughts. It’s all so very strange.
