Not a really good argument, since I don't see their deaths as being related to what they were searching for. They could have been hunting deer instead of Sasquatch, and it likely wouldn't have played a role in what their cause of death was.

Whether there is or isn't a Sasquatch isn't really a scientific issue either. If there are undiscovered species, they would have to be discovered by someone first.
