I once saw an ad for a device you wear around your kneck while bicycling that would inflate and cover your entire head when it detected you were falling. I think it would be great to invent something like that for little ones where it inflates when it touches water and keeps the head back.

As a mother and grandmother, I know how easy it is to lose sight of a rambunctious child for a few moments. I'm hoping the Mom, who did such a thing, is comforted and not vilified, in the loss of her precious child.

Ugh, this poor poor family. I remember when little Noah went missing in TN and all the searching for him. I have since had a little boy. And he's just...all boy. He doesn't stop unless he collapses asleep. He has no fear at all. I actually had a bad dream last night and woke up just feeling afraid for my toddler. And worried that I can't keep my eyes on him 24/7 and that I have to trust other people to watch him at times.

I would be terrified to live backed up to a river. Poor little baby boy. I hope it was quick. I don't know how I'd recover if I was his mom. I really don't. :( (Seriously. Ugh. I looked up as I was typing this and my toddler was opening the kitchen window! Someone forgot to lock it.) I know there are some awful and neglectful parents out there. But it is seriously hard to keep track of a non stop busy toddler.

How very sad! They can disappear within a blink of your eyes. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Still not recovered. :(
After suspending the search Monday for a 2-year-old boy presumed missing in the Skagit River since Thursday, crews will resume the search for his body on Tuesday.
...
Over the weekend, a side-scanning sonar used by the Seattle Police Harbor Patrol identified areas of interest in the river in the search for the body, Meyer said.

Crews will return to those sites about 7 p.m. Tuesday, which is low tide, to continue searching, he said.
Search continues for body of boy missing since Thursday

Got to step back from this case. I lost a Great Granddaughter this year to drowning in a swimming pool. Way too raw for me.
