@California29 - just adding more love, light and positive thoughts for you and your family and friends. Wishing you all the best in searching for Alexander and hopes for a resolution to his whereabouts. I know this is painful for all involved.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, prayers and wishes. I've been reading them all and they truly have been making me feel more positive. I am leaving this Friday to go up there to scan the place and also pick up his car. Since I currently do not have car insurance (I don't own a car since I live in a big city) I was wondering if anyone knew of any car insurances that would allow me to use it for a few days for a car that is not owned by myself? Since the car is Alex's, I have no way of knowing whether he has full coverage on that vehicle so I need to get coverage just to be safe. I am doing more research online but if anyone has any useful information then please let me know

@California29 any time I have used a rental car - I was offered insurance on the rental car. Hopefully that is something you can utilize.

All of us here hope you find answers. Be safe in your travels.

My car insurance allows anyone driving my car to be insured under the policy unless they specifically exclude a person. The only time I’ve seen that happen was to my former boss whose son had a DUI so my boss’ insurance specifically excluded the son from being covered under his policy. I suggest you look in his glove compartment to see if he has an updated insurance card with the registration and call his insurance company to double check before driving it back. I’m so sorry that you have to worry about things such as this while he is missing. I truly hope you find him soon.

Thank you. I am flying out there tonight and meeting with the individual who was in charge of the search tomorrow morning. She is going to take me to where his car was found and I will be able to just get a sense of what the place looks like. It's just odd that they didn't find a trace of him (they mentioned that they even looked through trail footage using hidden cameras that they use for animal research) and didn't see him in any of them. This whole thing is just really odd.

Oh... that's pretty odd. So they have their car and his painting easel?

Yes, they found the car and towed it to a parking lot. Since my parents had a spare key they shipped it over there to make sure that it works so I am using the spare key in order to drive it back down to California. I assume the painting easel was standing next to the car when they found it but I am not sure. Will ask tomorrow.

Thinking of you as well, California29. Especially your brother, and parents as well.

Hi all - thank you for the warm wishes. This weekend was a lot to handle and it was a long trip. Unfortunately, I came back with more questions than answers. His car had a full tank of gas, his oil was recently changed (he got it changed while he was in Washington), and his tires are fairly new. I also stopped by a Diner that he went to during his trip up there and both the Chef and Waitress remember him vividly since he was very friendly to them and they said that he interacted with him more than most costumers which is why they remembered him so well. The Chef said that he looked very happy and the waitress told me word for word as to what they spoke about and how he was funny/friendly, etc. I know that he was going through a lot but none of the stuff I found out while up there added up or made sense as to where he went to and why he disappeared (since based on the facts above, suicide makes zero sense at this point). They (National Park Search Team/Rangers) will do a thorough search of the lake using technology that allows them to see clearly into the bottom of it and let us know if they get any traction.

If anyone here sees anything online (any new comments from anyone or articles) or hears anything then please post it on here. Our family is still hopeful that he is somewhere out there.

Hey @California29 I appreciate you sharing here with us and I am thinking of you and your brother. However I unfortunately feel compelled to tell you - don't write off suicide just because he took care of his car and was in good spirits at the diner. We have seen multiple cases here on WS where the person filled their car with gas and then committed suicide, and sometimes people who make up their mind to leave the world are in a good mood afterward (a documented phenomena). I personally still think all options are on the table, but I hope and pray for your family's sake and his own that he is alive out there somewhere.

@California29 any news? Such a worrying time for you, I hope you're ok.

I suspect he was walking along one of the trails there, slipped, fell and injured himself.
I’m thinking the same. Maybe he set up his easel then went for a short walk around.

I had to take a break from the internet which is why I’m replying back so late. Unfortunately still no news. We’re still trying to reach out to the park rangers and we are still keeping our hopes up. Thank you for checking in

Cali, your brother AND you are in my continued prayers. All of us here are thinking of your family.

Please take care of YOU. Easier said than done, but your break from the internet was a good step.

Sending you only all good things, and love and light.

Please don't worry, you don't owe anyone an explanation. I'm sorry there's not been any positive news yet. Take care of yourself
