WA WA "Angel” Alleacya Boulia, last seen 17 Nov 2025 in Port Angeles, car found 30 Nov 2025 at Sol Duc Trailhead, Olympic National Park

  • #21
I thought the car was rented at the airport? I swear I read on a Facebook post that the woman who rented her the car from the airport remembered her.

Hopefully they can maybe pinpoint where her cell phone last pinged, there's not much service out there, very spotty the entire drive along Lake Crescent. Seems like her cell phone was not found in the vehicle?

From what I read she arrived in WA on November 6 and family last heard from her on November 17 so where did she stay during that time period and who did she potentially meet? Did she camp? Stay in a hotel? I have many questions! However, like you said the outcomes are not looking positive at this point. Very unfortunate.
I just read that a womnan, posting on one of the official missing sites as an individual said she rented her "her car'. The way it was worded implied a private rental, (and again, unverified) but she just may have been reluctant to post publically who she worked for. I wish LE could clear up that and some other details.

“I’m not exactly sure what she said, but she posted a photo of herself, a selfie, what looked to be inside the park,” Abraham said. “This is where it gets weird. Between Nov. 15 and Nov. 16, they had a break-in at the Sol Duc Hot Spring [Resort], which is closed for the winter. Supposedly, the maintenance man reported it on Monday, the 17th, when he came back.”

When park rangers discovered Boulia’s abandoned Ford Bronco, they found much of the camping equipment still inside along with Sol Duc Hot Spring Resort maintenance documents.

“In the car was most of her camping equipment, minus a day pack, a couple of survival kits and a few things that we believe are with her because they are missing,” Abraham said. “Also in the trunk, they found items from the lodge, which were pool couplings, which go on pipes, and a maintenance checklist, like a winterization checklist with cabin numbers. They didn’t find it odd; they filled in the gaps and said she must have been in the resort.”

That is MUCH more detailed than some "pool equipment" and a "checklist" that was originally reported. This is the first it was said the pool equipment was tied in directly to the resort (as opposed to being something left in the vehicle by the vehicle owner if privately rented or the previous renter). This is also the first they've mentioned her day pack being gone as well a couple of survival kits being missing. Have they checked the winterized cabins?

This has me going some other direction than a possibly wilderness-naive young person going hiking/camping and having an accident. We know little of her prior to this - no job/career info no personal info. Just a FB with last posts from 2017. Did she have any previous physical or mental health issues, where the stress of the trip triggered some unusual behavior?

The status of her mental health was my first question. Primarily because of this far away trip, the stated purpose and the fact she’s alone is a little unusual. Not really the time of year for an inexperienced person to explore Washington state parks. Definitely odd.

Oh wow, yes definitely a lot more details being divulged now, given all that information it would be natural to make the assumption maybe she broke in the lodge and possibly was with others? Ditched her rental car and is somewhere out there going off grid and trying to not be found. So many more possibilities that's for sure. Maybe a mental health breakdown combined with drug use, definitely alot of drugs available in the Port Angeles area, from what I've heard. Still unfortunate for her family.

I’m local to the area too, I was hiking at Hurricane Ridge (another part of Olympic NP) just a couple of weeks ago. It was cold, snowing and very windy, living up to its name. Me being me, I was loving it. Just a handful of us at the top and half were rangers (though not for lack of trying by the public, the ranger at the entrance to HR had to turn around about a dozen cars because they didn’t carry chains, which are required in winter). One of the rangers and I were chatting about needing to have a hardy soul to visit or work there on days when the weather isn’t perfect.

I second everything GraceG says, this is NOT the time of year for the inexperienced to go running around Olympic. Too many get into trouble after underestimating our fall/winter/spring weather. It’s a literal rainforest and wet + cold = hypothermia. Depending on where you are the risk of hypothermia is very real even in midsummer. It’s very dense forest and if you go off trail without navigation gear and skills it’s too easy to get lost forever.

Did she just out of nowhere decide to go to ONP? Did she ever show any interest in wilderness camping or the Pacific Northwest? If she was just naive and needed help and couldn’t just get in the car and drive back to town, the thing to do is to stay in the resort she broke into until found by a worker because it’s at least shelter. It’s about 40 miles from Port Angeles to the Sol Duc resort and another two miles to the trailhead.

The seemingly impromptu trip, poor planning especially for the time of year, taking weird stuff out of the building, leaving things in her car, and disappearing smacks of a mental health problem.

It feels like this case definitely will be involving the previous incidents of drugs, maybe she was involved with shady people who gave her the drugs and that could be a possibility? It could be an accident but if there was others, there would be some type of motive to doing something to them. She could have had a mental issue, could be fleeing of something, or maybe someone had taken her forcefully. Also, the maintenance worker being at the resort on 17th of November link's up with her last sighting and the maintenance checklist in her car. Maybe some questioning from them would be needed, it seems like there may be possibility they were with her or something along the lines of it.

I'm looking at the timeline again and it still doesn't add up logically. The news article states the maintenance worker reported the break-in at Sol Duc Lodge on Monday 11/17, implying nobody was on-site over the weekend and it occurred between 11/15 - 11/16. However Angel was definitely seen on the Walmart surveillance video shopping on 11/17 and her last contact with her family was 11/18, after the incident at Sol Duc. Plus she stayed at the Quality Inn the night of 11/16 (Sunday) so it seems as if despite some jumping to conclusions that she was somehow involved with the break-in that she actually didn't arrive in the Sol Duc area until a couple days after the break-in was already reported.

I wonder where her belongings were found that they referenced? The mosquito net, bandana, flashlight and toe warmer kit, an odd assortment of items to be lost or left on the trail. The buying duplicates (three) of rain ponchos and gloves that is referenced in the statement her aunt makes in the news article is also strange too.

You make some good points, but I can't help but think that the break in info is second hand, from her aunt, NOT law enforcement or park officials. Her family had also stated she flew into Port Angeles which doesn't have air service. So personally, I'd take any non-official statements with a grain of salt, despite the family's obvious caring intentions. The aunt said in the linked article (the post from @Knox Wed 2:18) " Between Nov. 15 and Nov. 16, they had a break-in at the Sol Duc Hot Spring [Resort], which is closed for the winter. Supposedly, the maintenance man reported it on Monday, the 17th, when he came back.”

Until there's some timeline info from an official source or clarification on the breakin details from other than family I'm not going to try and fit more puzzle pieces together, but I still think her history might provide clues as to current behaviours.

Here's an article from today but seems to be summarizing all the same information, for the most part. Although interesting to read her original plans were for a much shorter trip.

JMO, three Subway sandwiches is a lot for one person at one time. They're lunch meat, they wouldn't safely keep for all that long outside a refrigerator. usda guidelines

“We were trying to look to see if she was with other people because she was buying duplicates of things,” said Abraham. “Some would be normal, but I think she bought three pairs of gloves, three rain ponchos. We couldn’t understand why she would buy three. That same day, she was telling her mom she was helping the homeless.”

The Leader contacted the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, the Port Angeles Police Department, the National Parks Public Affairs Office and the FBI for more information.

An FBI spokesperson referred Leader staff to National Park staff.

Olympic National Park Chief Park Ranger Scott Jacobs declined to comment on the investigation and directed all inquiries to the National Park Service’s public affairs office. Although multiple agencies were initially involved, all have referred Leader staff back to National Parks officials.

“I’m just trying to get as many eyes on this story as possible because there are suspicious circumstances,” Abraham said. “Is it a dangerous area to go camp or hike by yourself? Yes, absolutely, but with the other circumstances, I don’t think they should be overlooked.

Couple things - She bought three pairs of gloves, three rain ponchos and three sandwiches. It's a reasonable assumption, along with the fact she was reportedly helping the homeless to assume she had met others who she thought would be joining her.

As for the Aunt, I see no reason not to believe she has accurate information regarding the break-in. Or that some of the items from that break-in, were found in AB's vehicle.

The NP Service never speaks about active investigations. The other local agencies & FBI who were involved are not commenting at all either. So verification of what the Aunt disclosed isn't going to happen, IMO.

I could see this going a couple of different ways. Foul play due to trusting the wrong folks. Or those she thought would join her, didn't and she went out on her own. I've even considered she became friendly with some homeless folks and is living with them somewhere local.

This one's a mystery for sure, my thoughts are with her family. Being so far away is tough, hopefully they are being regularly updated!

If she wanted to help the homeless we have a number of organizations here that would be happy to take donations or accept volunteers for a specific project. It’s better and safer to hook up with professionals that know the best way to allocate resources for local needs.

A trip to ONP in late fall in bad weather and wanting to help the homeless. I think she’s all over the place with her thinking and activities and the apparent lack of appropriate planning. Manic episode?

That's a great observation - I didn't think of the evidence oef terms of three, and perhaps being for more than one person. This just gets odder.

The only thing I can add is something one of my trainers in the job told me when looking at a scene for evicence.
(1) Look for something that is there that should NOT be there.
(2) Look for something that IS NOT there that SHOULD be.

I hope there's a break in this case soon, and she's just off grid somewhere and safe.

I thought the same thing, but thinking way back to a younger me, I could see myself telling my mom that I was helping the homeless if I’d met up with some transients, hippies, whatever. There is a photo of her that has more of her phone’s background app. I’m going to try to find it…it looks like maybe snapmaps was being used.
