Just saw Angie's father on King5 news tonight. If alive, she'd be 59 now. Family have never believed she ran away.

TACOMA, Wash. — Nearly 45 years to the day after her disappearance, the family of a Tacoma teen is asking for the public’s help in generating new leads.

To family and friends, she was simply known as “Angie” – she vanished days before she turned 14.

[..]

Tacoma police insist the case is not cold; they have a detective assigned and, in 2016, learned new information – Angela Meeker had concert tickets for the same weekend she went missing.

Her family is hopeful that speaking out will encourage others to do the same.

“It could be a phone call tonight that changes everything,” said her brother, John Glenn Meeker. “Anything could help. So please do the right thing.”

Meeker’s father keeps hope alive all these years later.

Meeker left her family home on South 41st Street to buy a birthday card for a friend at the Hallmark store. She was supposed to attend a joint birthday party held for her and her friend that evening.

Meeker never returned home and has not been seen or heard from since. There have been unconfirmed reports on whether Meeker was at the party.

Detectives said they suspect foul play in Meeker’s disappearance. Meeker is not considered a runaway because she did not have issues with her family and had plans to come back home.

What if something bad happened to Angie at the party and the attendees covered it up?

Many years ago, like 20+, there was a very lengthy series done by the Seattle PI that discussed missing/unidentified and the myriad of issues in finding/identifying all of those out of Washington. It was a Fantastic series - one I thought I saved but can't find, although I am finding some archived material.

In any event, I recall there being a young Jane Doe found in a cave (I believe timing and location were reasonable for Ms. Meeker). There was a red balloon with the Doe. I was always struck by this b/c Ms. Meeker had gone to the mall for a birthday card/celebratory item for her friend's birthday. Since then, I have looked for that case again (a few times for sure) and have been unable to find any info on it - are any of you familiar with the Doe case?

I don't know the case, but it seems like a good coincidence... we mustn't lose hope... a little girl who left us...
whatever the case
Rest in peace
