The Bellevue Police Department (BPD) said the reported rape occurred around 8:50 a.m. in a first-floor restroom inside the L Building on campus. Police described the suspect as a white man with brown hair, clean-shaven, wearing a hoodie and "possibly armed with a knife."

"A sexual assault was reported on campus in the L Building," Bellevue College said in its emergency alert. "Police are on site and have requested a campus closure. Please safely leave campus."

Seth Tyler of the BPD said the victim reported she went into the women's restroom and a man was inside with a knife.

"She said that the man held her at knifepoint and raped her," Tyler said. "She did have some cuts consistent with the knife."

The victim was taken to Overlake Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Tyler said.
