GUILTY WA - Ben Eastman, 16, raped and murdered, Lewis County, 23 Jun 2018

Absolutely evil.

Yes indeed, it's evil. Why so cruel? Did the brothers hate this young man for some reason? Were they on a dare? Or are they just that mean, especially when they are together? Were they drug-crazed when they attacked him? Is this going to turn into a hate crime?

Initially, charges were 2nd degree murder until the suspects revealed more details amping up the charges to aggravated 1st degree murder -- it was premeditated. I'm so glad they apprehended them quickly! It's mind numbing how a childhood 'friend' could invite you to go camping, and without warning viciously murder you. These are outdoor kids just beginning summer vacation. Makes you wonder if the 21 year old suspect may have had some control over his younger brother, given the 5 year age span. 5 years a lot when you're in high school. If not hate crime, they wanted to silence Ben. Sick, sick, sick...

Two brothers are facing first-degree rape and murder charges in Washington State in the death of Benjamin Eastman, a 16-year-old boy who was last seen on June 23.

Arrested were Jonathon Adamson, 21, and his 16-year-old brother, Benito Marquez. Each is being held on $10 million bail. (Marquez is being charged as an adult.) Both men are also charged with tampering with physical evidence and unlawful disposal of remains.

Eastman lived with his father in Randle.

This is horrible beyond belief. Heinous.

How on earth can someone who has been "friends for years" commit such evil against his friend?

May strength and comfort hold Ben's family close during this inexplicably difficult time.

Oftentimes, what one won't do by himself, two will. I do think they planned it together, and each gave the other the "bravado" to do the horrible things they did. And now they are in big, big trouble. I'd like to ask each brother, now and in 25 years, "Was it worth it?" SMH.

What a waste of a young man's life -- who knows what good things Ben might have done in his lifetime? And now those who loved him have a big hole in their hearts.
