This is one sick, sick, sick dude!!! I am still here, Ben. When it is hard for me to read, I can only imagine how hard it was to experience. So, we won't leave you alone, this time. We will stand with you as justice is hopefully served. May he never see the light of day again.

Him taking him out of the locked car.... yall.... I cannot even imagine the fear.

Ben was beaten so badly the coroner wouldn't allow his dad, Ben Sr, to see his son's body.

Adamson Pleads Not Guilty to New Charges in Killing of Randle Teen

TIA! :)
[...]

The hearing was a brief one as Judge James Lawler read through the 10 counts Adamson now faces, including new counts of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree assault, first-degree rendering criminal assistance and two counts of tampering with a witness. Adamson pleaded not guilty to each count, a common occurrence for an arraignment hearing.

Additionally on Thursday morning, a suppression hearing was scheduled in Adamson’s case for 1 p.m. June 24.

[...]

Meyer said on Thursday the chances of the case going to a jury trial were “very good” as far as his office was concerned.

“There was a settlement that we thought we had reached and that was rejected, so we’re just going to get ready to go to trial,” said Meyer.

He was referencing a hearing that had been set for the morning of Feb. 22. Adamson was expected to plead guilty during the hearing. His attorney, Don Blair, said Adamson indicated to him that he had decided against pleading guilty after all.

[...]

The trial is currently set to begin the week of Aug. 5, and would likely span about four weeks. A larger pool of potential jurors will be gathered than is traditional, said Meyer.

Adamson Pleads Not Guilty to New Charges in Killing of Randle Teen

Adamson, 21, has been in the Lewis County Jail since June 30, 2018, for allegedly killing 16-year-old Benjamin Eastman III. On Feb. 28, new charges were filed after prosecutors said updated information on the death came to light.

The most serious accusation now leveled against Adamson is first-degree aggravated murder, a charge that, upon conviction, carries a mandatory life sentence.

Adamson pleaded not guilty to each count, a common occurrence for an arraignment hearing.

Additionally on Thursday morning, a suppression hearing was scheduled in Adamson’s case for 1 p.m. June 24. The hearing is set to take around two hours and will cover “admissibility of statements,” according to Lewis County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer.
[...]
Adamson is accused of the June 24 beating death of Eastman. Adamson’s brother, Benito Marquez, 17, who is also accused in the slaying, pleaded guilty on Feb. 22. As part of his plea agreement, Marquez would likely take the stand against his brother, as would Adamson’s mother, Kindra Adamson, and Emma Brown, a person identified in court documents as his fiancé. Both pleaded guilty to misleading authorities during their investigation into Eastman’s disappearance.

ETA: I guess JA thinks he has nothing to lose going to trial. I'm curious what admissibility statements he wants suppressed. I recall JA was arrested a couple days before his brother Benny, and now that all including Mom & GF have made agreements, I wonder what he said that he doesn't want heard? Tampering with a witness -- I believe that involves another brother he was using to try and get word to the others in jail. They are all required to testify in his trial -- give it up dude. Stop inflicting so much pain.

I am just horrified looking back at this crime again. Who would ever think your child's best friend would set them up to sodomize and beat them to death? This crime is so personal and brutal. I really hope he's not getting out after only 20 years....

BEN'S fam, friends, girlfriend & local community lost one helluva bright light.
Ben's GF (the murderers' lil sister) lost her bf for good, both brothers to prison, mom & sis-in-law were involved in coverup. GROSS.

Came upon this Washington Court hearing reporting that I found helpful re. continuance & stipulations....

Superior Court Statistical Reporting Manual
5. PROCEEDINGS CONTINUED

A continuance is only an instance where a proceeding has been set for a specific date and is deferred before that hearing commences. If a proceeding has been initiated and is recessed until a later date, do not docket that a continuance has occurred. A continuance should only be recorded if the scheduled hearing did not commence.

If the continuance is granted in court before the scheduled proceeding commences, and if the motion was argued in court or an order to continue the proceeding was filed, docket a "MTHRG" (motion hearing) in addition to the continuance. Unless the above criteria are met, do not docket a motion hearing if a status conference is continued.

Recess/Reconvene - If a proceeding has been initiated and is recessed until a later date, or is scheduled to reconvene at a later date, do notdocket that a continuance has occurred.

So he elected not to plead guilty on Feb 22 and they filed more charges on Feb 28. Sounds about right. He's probably going to wish he'd taken that plea.

Jonathon Adamson, the Randle man accused of murder in the death of 16-year-old Benjamin Eastman III, is set to appear to a hearing in Lewis County Superior Court Monday afternoon to determine whether comments he made to law enforcement officers during the investigation will be admissible in court.

Lewis County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer declined to say what the statements Adamson reportedly made were regarding, but also said that such a hearing is routine.

“The rule is, if we want to use those, we need to have this type of hearing,” Meyer said, saying that only an agreement between him and the defense can prevent the hearing from taking place. And in this case, no such agreement was made.

Additionally, Meyer said he and Adamson’s defense attorney, Don Blair, may discuss trail scheduling issues, such as when certain witnesses may be called to take the stand.

The hearing is set to begin 1 p.m. Monday in Lewis County Superior Court.

Adamson has a jury trial slated to begin the week of Aug. 5.
