WA WA - Brison Miller, 18, Tacoma, 11 April 2015

The 11th. Today is the 26th and it's not night yet, so he can't have left in the middle of the night tonight. That fb post screenshot has a typo.

Forgive me if this is not okay to say, but given the limited information we have in this case, I think the giant "call home" guilt trip poster is ABSOLUTELY the wrong approach here.

What day did he go missing? The 11th or 26th?

His Mom was on the site and took down the message saying that he left on his own and had this planned with a note. She said this was NOT true.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean?

If I were a teenager who left home to "clear my head", the LAST thing I would want to hear is how much pain and suffering I'd caused my family.

It was mentioned earlier that Brison is a sensitive, emotional person, and if this is the case, I think that a public guilt trip about how much he's hurt the people he loves the most would probably be pretty devastating to him. Even as an adult, I think I'd find such a thing pretty difficult to deal with emotionally.

On one of the flyers it says to keep an eye out from WA to CA. I grew up in U.P., graduated from Curtis High and now live in So. Cali. This boys disappearance has really touched my heart. I also have a young, skate-boarding son. This kid could be any one of ours and I pray he is safe.

I hope LE has reached out to the skate boarding community to get ideas on where else to look for Brison. A young man his age can't make it on their own for very long without any resources. Is he staying with friends? Perhaps a girlfriend? A friend that the family may not be aware of? Listen to the kids at school. I guarantee they know more information than the adults. Most kids that age don't always trust adults and loyalty amongst friends and peers is very important.

Please be safe, Brison. Your family is waiting for your return.

I agree. I think there's always a risk that you will push someone further "underground" by making them feel embarrassed or ashamed over the fuss they've caused. Reassurance that the family just want to know he is safe could be a lot more effective in encouraging Brison to come home or make contact.

I totally agree with you! Maybe I'm wrong but that post reads as though Brison is intentionally causing his family pain and suffering, which imho, is absolutely the wrong approach here and totally inconsiderate/insensitive! I wonder why someone would word things like that in the first place?! A blame game is not helpful in trying to get someone to come home if a person has voluntarily left - which we don't even know if is the case for his disappearance in the first place. Does this person know something else that isn't being disclosed? Ugh. Guilt-tripping, fwiw, isn't going to help anybody.

Based on the manipulative approach of the parents, I immediately get the sense they always handle things this way, and he's had enough.

They really need some parenting training.

The conflicting stories from family vs friends is interesting.

Hmm. Was Brison was intercepted on his way to the bridge? If he wasn't going there/was planning to disappear, why leave the note indicating his whereabouts at all? His mom was on vacation and his brother went to bed and did not consider his brother may be missing until the following evening. Nobody was going to be raising the alarm immediately.

I wonder if Brison was good friends/remained in touch with any kids who graduated high school last year and are now living on their own either in Tacoma or another city. If it's true that LE isn't doing much investigating due to Brison being 18 and leaving some sort of note, then I also wonder if his computer/internet-able devices have been properly examined.

I get the feeling there is a lot we don't know.

Thanks for sharing the mom doesn't agree with said family Fire d of 20 years. It seemed convincing.

Question. Why was the e tire Aubrey thread deleted? I've moved onto this case and if something done there was a faux pas I'd like to know Moving forward.

I'm from the area. The narrows bridge back in my day was used to say as a joke or when stressed that I'm going to jump off the narrows bridge. I'm not really sure that young people go skating across the bridge. I drive across it maybe every 6 months and used to more frequently and never saw it as a place to skate across. When I was this age no one I knew skated across it. Is that really a thing??

Well that makes more sense, unfortunately. He took his skateboard and wrote that he was going to Narrow's Bridge. As I mentioned earlier, the police said he was not on the surveillance tape so they did not think he went to the bridge afterall. But it does show a frame of mind =( I am wondering now if that is why his status changed to "possibly endangered".

Is that how they normally list people who may be suicidal?

There seem to be 2 "Search" or "Missing" type pages for Brison, representing each side of a divided family? There was a long post on one of them this morning acknowledging that Brison did leave a note, and his mothers heart is breaking trying to find him. He was depressed over not only his normal stresses at home (mom is sick), but the bullying and ridicule at school was getting to be too much. They were hoping to find him, or that he would return on his own, but that didn't happen. It alluded to possible suicide.

I hope that is not the case and that he is just hiding out somewhere.

Prayers for Brison and his mom. Btdt on suicide with a loved family member. It is very heartbreaking to be in her position. I am praying and hoping there is someone he can talk to thag he will understand life is not always going to be like this at 18. Prayer am for his mom who is upset and hope she has counseling and a good support network. Especially since she was on a vacation I am sure she feels even more regretful.

It's been noted that there are cameras all over Tacoma Narrows, and that no cameras captured him going there or leaving. I'm hoping that he went off to stay with a friend and cool his head a bit. I really hope his family hears from him soon.

I know it has been reported that Brison didn't show up on any cameras at the bridge. Still, I found this interesting. This article is about a woman who jumped off the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in February. Check the second comment at the bottom regarding long boarding on the bridge. Apparently it is a common thing...

That actually gives me a lot of hope! If it's a popular longboarding site, and he left with his longboard after leaving a note saying he was going to the Tacoma Narrows, maybe it was just as simple as that. He was going there to longboard. Then maybe went to a friend's? Went back to Burien, perhaps?

He's been gone a long time for a kid though. 17 days. Especially a kid with no resources. I hope he sees a poster and realizes that his family misses him =( It's such a tough age ...

They have a sighting in Puyallup and the tipster sounded pretty confident that it looked like him on his long board there but he didn't ask his name. Does anyone know anyone in Puyallup that can keep an eye out or hang a few posters so he knows they miss him? I am not familiar with that area AT ALL so I am not sure if it would be like looking for someone in Los Angeles!

It would be hard to miss the orange bottom long board (they think) and that blonde hair!
