I don't get the feeling it was sexual assault. This aligns with my thought that someone was in the car when she got in it. Also aligns with my thought that they pushed her out of the car.

Maybe a woman?

I'm really afraid that this is going to take a long time to solve. I hope I'm wrong!

With that time frame, she would have texted almost as soon as she parked. So she realized really quickly that she didn't have her badge. That makes me think she likely kept her badge in her car.

Something is off, here.

Also, the security system saw Cheryl leave? So that's how they know.

And, I guess this rules out the husband. He had no time at all to do anything to her. Not knowing exactly where he works, the drive time between the towns works out. Good. I'm glad about that, at least.

Earlier there were rumors about a messed up surveillance I thought, that someone posted that was on some site that was posted on this thread.

I wonder if the surveillance shows Cheryl leaving her house, or it shows Cheryl's car leaving her house.

I ask that because of that previous question about the house surveillance.

IMOO.

These two articles completely clear things up:

http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20160216/NEWS01/160219330

http://mltnews.com/medical-examiner-confirms-identity-of-found-body/

The obvious question that has been asked here is why police have assured the public that the community is not at risk, but I don't see that as a real issue. People are assaulted, robbed, and so on every day, and there is no "warning to the public". Only after several dead bodies are found and a conclusive link is established between the bodies is a public warning issued about a possible serial murderer in the area. That doesn't happen when one body is found.

Coincidentally, I'm locked out of the house right now. I'm reading this in my car on the street in the dark as I wait for my fiancé to get home. I don't want to drive back to work. I'm really freaked out!

Well thank you for your posts.
I have learned a lot. And I am still learning.

I would like to know the Subaru's location when the final texts were sent. The attacker would have had to get the car from that location to some point on Lyon Creek and then get it to the spot where it was found. There is a chance LE will find the car on later surveillance video.

And how did the perpetrator get CD from the driver's seat to the passenger seat without drawing attention ? This is so frightening and confusing.

"... surveillance system at the DeBoer’s home shows her husband leaving the house around 6:50 a.m. Feb. 8, a few minutes before Cheryl."

He left the house first, then she left the house.

Perhaps there is a connection to Susan Jacobson.

I did not see this coming and I really thought 'an abduction/attack by a stranger in the block where her car was found' was one of the less likely scenarios we had floating around here. So many questions...
This info in particular does seem to eliminate the domestic partner theory and seems to lead to Cheryl being an unfortunate victim of wrong place, wrong time:
A surveillance system at the DeBoer’s home shows her husband leaving the house around 6:50 a.m. Feb. 8, a few minutes before Cheryl. He arrived at this work in Mukilteo around 7:15 a.m.
Another surveillance video at the intersection of 236th Street SW and 56th Avenue W showed what appeared to be Cheryl DeBoer’s vehicle passing at around 7 a.m. headed westbound.

The HeraldNet seems the only media to pick this up so far...I wonder what their source was?

Hugs!
I bet reading all of this about Cheryl and you being in your car locked out of the house is freaking you out! It would freak me out, but that's kind of like watching a scary movie and you hear a noise in your house.
I hope your fiance comes home quick for your peace of mind. :)
You got us to keep you company in the meantime.

A random carjacker/murderer is without a doubt - a threat to public safety.

Maybe someone was arrested for another crime after CD's disappearance and became a POI in this case? Perhaps waiting on forensics to tie them to the murder of Cheryl?
Just a thought.

Wow!! Lots of info!!

Blood on the passenger seat...and passenger side door.

Do they have Cheryl ON VIDEO driving?

The article reads that what appears to be blood stains are on the inside portion of the passenger door, I didn't see any reference to blood on the seat.

And noticeably absent is any reference to what time Cheryl's home surveillance camera captured her leaving the house. If it captured her DH leaving, it had to capture her departure too. However, her car (or at least believed to be her car) was spotted in another surveillance camera at 7am, at the intersection of 236th St. SW and 56th Ave. W westbound, but no mention if the occupant was identifiable.

Her car was found in the 23440 block of 236th near 58th.

DH left home at 6:50am and arrived at work at 7:15am. He works in Mutilkeo, where is this?

The article reads that what appears to be blood stains are on the inside portion of the passenger door, I didn't see any reference to blood on the seat.

Police in Mountlake Terrace discovered the blood on the passenger seat of Cheryl DeBoer’s Subaru.

From:
http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20160216/NEWS01/160219330

I've looked at pictures of the impounded Subaru and there is no blood visible in the picture. I zoomed in and looked everywhere. I also don't know if they mean on the interior of the passenger door, or the part that is hidden when the door is closed - but if there was blood on the passenger seat then I am going to think that the blood was on the inside door panel as well.

I don't think Cheryl necessarily ever had to be in the passenger seat. The blood could have been someone else's - as the assailant might have been injured when they got in the car. And was there only one person, or was there anyone in the back seat? I definitely don't think that someone was hiding in the back seat all the way from her house - her windows have no tint on them and the headrests are low enough to easily see inside of the car before getting in, and it's not that big of a car.

Could someone have tried to get into her car to grab her purse?

Thinking of the murder of Alison (?) in AZ last year, LE had said at once that it was not a "random" crime, yet no arrest or even a named or unnamed POI after all this time.

Blood stains found in Mountlake Terrace woman’s car

...The search warrant helps establish a timeline.

At 7:02 a.m. a text was sent from Cheryl DeBoer’s phone to a carpool friend saying she forgot her identification badge needed for her job at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.
ok so im still confused.......and frustrated still doesn't add up ........i get the morning time line ......but who was driving that car at the surveillance of of 236th Street SW and 56th Avenue W........i think someone still coulddrive from the car location to mulkiteo in that time frame of arrival not accusing anyone but i think its possible depending where at in mulkiteo also what was he driving when he arrived just curious also im just throwing ideas out there i have no idea what happened but i get someone contacted her husband stating she never arrived to work did he call her than go home to see if she was there n she wasnt so he decided to drive right to the park n ride n discovered what he did in the afternoon you mean to tell me that car was there for hours and no one saw blood on the passenger door hmmmmm ppl passed that car if it was truly parked there at 7 am .....how do we know her body wasnt in the culvert before her car passed that surveillance ok i give up my mom just called and said the news just said her hubby passed a poly test i will just sit back n see just for cheryl comes fourth.......rip sweet lady .....im not accusing noone im just glad the citizens of the community are safe ......

Blood on the passenger seat & inside passenger door.

Since she was the one supposed to be driving... and her car was found right there at the park & ride (more or less), then... at what point was she in the passenger side, assuming this is her blood?

I also don't understand why the attacker didn't leave CD in the car where the attack happened. It seems so risky to move a car with a bleeding person around when people are going to work. I don't have any feel for what happened. I am dying for the family. It is horrific enough to lose a loved one but to lose someone in such mysterious circumstances is added torture. If CD was targeted I do not understand why the attack was at a busy time in a presumably busy location during daylight. This makes no sense to me.

Perhaps a carjacker opened Cheryl's car door, showed her a weapon, she back up to the passenger side to get away, and a weapon was used. That explains blood on the passenger side door and seat.

I think this information is justification for women in the area, and neighboring areas, to be more cautious.
