If I were a disorganized person who has just killed Cheryl in a frenzy, be it rage, revenge, drug-induced rush, or by accident, and my awareness space is that neighborhood and the sun is coming up soon, I am going to think of all the places around. You see, I didn't plan this, so I don't have a tarp and a shovel or a wood chipper (or the stomach). park? too obvious, she will be found by someone's dog. Woods by the cemetery? Well that may be better...oh hey there is that tunnel under the road...perfect, I can pull right in beside what is essentially a hidden hidey hole overgrown with brush, and filled with rushing water! It will take 5 mins.

MLT News on facebook.

There is a MLT news on Facebook that is a "Seattle Times" affiliate.
They also have a dot com website.

Is this the one everybody is mentioning?

I am still thinking about the search and what one article mentioned that they found something "helpful".
I wonder what that was?

IMOO.

"Earlier on Tuesday, searchers returned to the culvert, which runs beneath Cedar Way at 244th Street Southwest, to look for evidence. Pickard said they found something helpful, though he would not elaborate."

I also thought she might have been lured into another car. How could she have been lured, what do you think?

Too lazy to go back and look up the post number, lol. But I posted something earlier about how by all accounts Cheryl was a very nice lady. I'm thinking she would be just the person to go and see if she could help if someone in another car feigned distress... after all, she was already running late now anyway, with forgetting her badge and all.

Could possibly even be a couple - one feigning distress, the other pushing/pulling her into the car.

And to do what with her? Robbery? Better just to grab the purse, no? Rape? Or with the intention to kill her?

I am in the park right now where Cheryl's car. I walked the path to the transit center. It is kind of muddy and someplace I would never walk by myself (ran isn't one homeless person, otherwise no one). I simply can't see why CD would have chosen going through the park rather than just walking on the street. It might be like 30 seconds faster tops and a lot more dangerous. I have a hard time believing that walking through the park was her MO.

Also, a few other that struck me after seeing the locations:

-her house is in the corner of a Main Street. And her driveway is directly accessible to the Main Street as it goes on the side of her house. Someone easily could have jumped her as she got into her car at her house. Garage is tiny. I highly doubt any cars get parked in there.

-the culvert is VERY close to the house and also a straight shot from where her car was found parked. Someone could have dropped her there from either place within a few mins tops.

-the culvert is very visible from the street. I don't know how nobody noticed her body if it had truly been there since Mon AM.
A very strange place to put her considering that it was not a good "hiding" place when there are so many good hiding places in the area. It is a fairly busy intersection. (I had to wait for cars to pass to cross with my dog.) I imagine someone pulling over and haphazardly throwing her over the concrete into the culvert. A true dump.

I do not believe for a moment she committed suicide there.

Okay fine, I went to go find my post, lol! Way to make me work. ;) I snipped and left the part where I speculated on that. :)

[snipped by myself]

I'm thinking it happened where she parked. Cheryl was by all accounts a very nice lady. Someone in a nearby car could have feigned an injury and called her over to help. She was likely the kind of person to go over and see if she could help. Then she was grabbed, pulled/pushed into this car, and taken. I am actually thinking at the moment maybe by a male/female couple (duo).

They may have taken her for the same stupid reason the suspects in the Nicole Lovell case may have taken her - they wanted to murder someone. Or they thought Cheryl had money. Or it may have been a case of mistaken identity.

What if someone was looking for someone else, someone driving a white Impreza? And they thought Cheryl was this person? They nabbed her (tricking her into coming over to their car by feigning they need help), find out she's the wrong person, murder her because she knows who they are, and dump her body.

Just more surmising... one of these days something has to make sense.

Well, one time i thought my car was catching fire in a walmart parking lot. Turns out it was just my phone car charger burning plastic inside of it. A really nice ex firefighter that was parked next to me got in my car, figured it out for me. Anyone can say they have car trouble, need a jump. That draws a lot of attention though, imho. So, maybe it was someone she knew...and thats why at first cops said dont be alarmed at first. But maybe they thought it was someone they had their eye on who was cleared and now thats why theyre telling public to be careful. Also, doesnt explain the blood stains in her car or her family publically stating they were grieving before her body was found.

I was more thinking someone feigning a medical emergency from inside a car without making a spectacle. That's why I'm thinking couple. Guy walks to Cheryl and says 'my girlfriend just fainted (or whatever), please come help' and she walks over, bends into car, gets pushed in.

Can't really say if the blood stains fit in until we've heard more about them. All MOO again. :cow: (I love the cow).

Youre walking, though. Is the culvert easily seen from a car? Were there other people walking around? Are both sides of the culvert easily seen? Ive heard from people not a lot of people walk in that area. Btw you have balls to walk that path...i dont

We do not have knowledge of the evidence that LE has but what we do know has us going around and around in circles. When I am reading about cases and trying to pull together a theory, I remind me of Occam's Razor. So if I apply that theory to this case, what is the explanation that makes the most sense?

Gah, there isn't one. And that is why I keep going around and around. There must be something LE has that helps them shift this case into either a homicide, accidental death, or suicide.

At least I hope!

The same one I am referring to.
MLTnews is a "Seattle Times" affiliate.

Why are some thinking they can't link that Facebook or website?
If it is a post ( from a reader) from that link, then it is considered rumor, and the post itself not linkable or rather not talked about here on the thread, but the links to the Facebook and website should be linkable, imoo.
I thought it was fine to say Hey! You guys! Read this ( give a hint, time ,date, etc) and point them in the direction…IMOO.

Thank you and sorry to make you hunt it down :tyou:

Yes that's a good theory. Simple, and not contradicting any known facts. I think something along those lines might very well have happened.

Thank you for confirming what I suspected. Definitely done in a rush without regards to whether she would be found fast or not. Just quickly get rid of her. Someone in a hurry?
