Do we know if her car was parked with the drivers side of the door facing the street or was it facing the curb? This might give us a better picture of what happened at her car and how the blood got on the passenger side.
Ditto in Washington.Off Topic, but responding to your post:
Here in Colorado that is against the law:
https://www.codot.gov/library/traff.../traffic-guidelines-info/move_it_brochure.pdf
"Move-It. Its not just a good idea. Its the law.
Ever been involved in a minor traffic accident on the
freeway? Rather than move your car off the road, you
left it in a traffic lane until the police arrived? Don't
feel bad if you have. Actually, it happens quite often
in the metro Denver area. Unfortunately, its against
state law."
"State law requires motorists involved in a minor
accident on a divided highway
including the T-REX
corridor
to move their vehicles off the highway when
the vehicle is drivable no drugs or alcohol are involved and there are no injuries
Once at a safe location, drivers can notify law
enforcement and exchange information."
If she was taken away from the park and ride in her car, police would likely know this or strongly suspect it. They know if this isn't where she would park (the husband and the carpoolers know where she parks) and they likely have other cameras that would show her car going away.
If that were the case, wouldn't the police show a picture of her car and ask for tips involving it?
Great point. I can't even find a description of her car, let alone a picture online (although Q13 showed it this morning).
I feel the same, however, if they were treating it as a kidnapping until her body was found, it might explain why they were being tight lipped. It also might explain the presence of the US Marshals that Pickard mentioned earlier on.Trying to catch up & musing things over... a few questions please?
I saw reference to her body being "halfway" in the culvert. Where did that info come from? Link/quote?
Is the information in the entire search warrant public and/or available to the media, or did the info about the blood findings come from a LE info release? If it's available in some way, are there more details? Was there a Pickard presser or interview yesterday?
Knowing about the blood in the car makes it more obvious why this case was taken so seriously immediately. Any missing person should - but even in the greater Sea area there have been other missing persons in the last 2 weeks that have been on the news with only a brief mention. It explains a lot about how everything has been handled.
Since there was blood in the car indicating foul play, why was that area not secured as a crime scene? They clearly suspected something was wrong from day 1?
I, too, am completely baffled & a bit upset that the husband was cleared early on but it took over a week to put that out there. He saw the blood & lost his wife Monday, the search warrants were issued Wednesday, he took a polygraph Friday, and in the midst they were able to verify when he left the house & arrived at work. The pressure of suspicion on such a high profile local case on top of the "grief" - now I also understand the choice of words & why he was too distraught to speak to the media - is hellacious. Could they not have cleared him sooner? Why would they wait?
So many of us, both locally & on the forums, feel a connection to Cheryl. She could have been any of us. She so easily could have been me in that same spot. I desperately want to know what happened to this sweet, wonderful woman & see justice served.
Here's a picture of her car on the Crimestoppers link:

I wanted to mention something else about clearing MD, but not informing the public right away. From everything I've seen, anyone who knew Cheryl never really suspected him at all. Everything I've seen on social media suggests he adored her and family and friends knew this. LE may have wanted to keep the information close in case the perp felt comfortable and did something sloppy. As awful as it is, it makes sense to me. I feel like it would be worth it to "take one for the team" so-to-speak, for a week, if that means possibly finding the true murderer sooner. I hope this doesn't come across as rude or calloused. I feel horrible for what he's gone through and continues to go through with losing his love. I've just been thinking it over and this makes some sense to me.
Just a point to ponder regarding the Husband being cleared. Perhaps it took a bit longer to do a thorough Investigation. Even tho it was evident the Husband was not physically responsible perhaps they were looking at him even closer? A lover? A hired hit? etc. etc.
ETA Bank accounts, credit card activity etc.

I am truly stumped. I know many disagree with this, as she was found clothed, but I still think sexual assault is a possible motive. Nothing makes sense! She seems to be such an unlikely targeted victim.
Hugs to her family and loved ones.
Her actual car was shown on local news (KCPQ) this morning. It was a light-colored SEDAN, quite a small car. I read early on that it was a Subaru Impreza. I will try to find a link.
poor reporting has not helped in this case. Or many others grrrrrrr........
