Oh !! I see what happened now !!

After texting her friend, Cheryl inexplicably punched herself in the face. She hit herself so hard in fact, she ended up face down on the passengers seat. She then turned her cellphone off and was so angry about leaving her badge at home, that she opted to get out of her car with purse and cellphone in hand, and then began walking 1.2 miles down the street without being seen. After having walked the 1.2 miles down a busy street in the rain and with no one seeing her, she decided to enter a concrete culvert via a flooded ditch and crawl on her hands and knees to the far side as water flowed through the culvert.

After taking a seat in foot deep water, she took out a penknife and slashed a couple of her fingertips. Afterwards, she swallowed an entire bottle of prescription pills and made sure all the evidence was swept away in the current. Phone, pills, knife, purse, all swept away.

It was right there in front of us all along......can't you guys see it !!??

Once the M.E. pointed out the tiny cuts on her fingers, of which he has no idea if self inflicted or not, that just opened everything up for me.

Why would she walk the opposite direction of her home? You think she purposely looked for that culvert and said to heck with it all? What about the blood in the car? You are saying the blood was from the face punch??
Wouldn't toxicology show pill usage?

IMOO.

How can they tell if they're self inflicted cuts?
Maybe they were covered by bandaids?

Thank You because I really did not want you to tell me later I told you so on this one.!!

That would make sense. Still seems very curious that it is the one piece of info to be released. My head hurts.

Wow! Just checked in to find the "self-inflicted wounds on fingers" information. How do they know they were self-inflicted? Was there a knife in the car with her fingerprints? Very puzzling. When I first read there was blood in the car I thought of Holly Bobo. Now I don't know what to think!

If that's the case, why would be relevant at all?

ETA - and band-aids aren't likely to stay on in the water for days.

I shouldn't have read the last couple of pages before going to bed. Now all this talk of self-inflicted cuts is going to be going round my head and I will never get to sleep.

I was just about to post the same thing. You'd think they would not have to qualify them as 'apparently' if they were covered with band-aids, but I guess you never know!

Weird, if that is the only outward sign of injury - then where did the blood come from? (Unless it is only a smear or two?)

I think if that story was how it went down, I would have to just quit Websleuths! 😂😂😂

It's almost 5 here. I think I need a cocktail. This is mindboggling!

JMO MOO A broken smart phone screen could leave what appeared to be self inflicted small cuts on your fingers... especially if it got dropped and you were struggling with someone over it. JMO MOO

They're getting lined up and ready to proclaim this was a suicide.......I've seen it before. Just recently they did this same type of drip and drab release of information on the Gliniewicz case, the cop that killed himself in Illinois. This bit about waiting for "further test" is code for "We want to see what kind of drugs are in her system", it also slows things down for about 6-8 weeks. Not releasing the cause and manner of death is a dodge of some kind by the M.E., he'd rather the cops take the beating than himself.

Only her husband would know if she had been depressed or despondent lately or if there was a fight that morning......and he ain't talkin'.

This is definitely a viable theory!

I know very little about drugs but cocaine lines are sometimes cut with a razor blade (which could give you a nasty cut if handled carelessly.) Cheryl's family has said she does not do drugs.

If they're waiting for toxicology, it could be months couldn't it...

It almost has earmarks of a suicide. Yet the method would be so far out there. Especially for a woman. At this point I guess I'm grasping.

This crossed my mind. I just don't believe it AT ALL! I know suicide happens in bizarre ways. Suicide has sadly happened in my family, so I understand that often others don't see signs before it occurs. HOWEVER, the circumstances of her death, as we know them, don't add up to suicide, as I see it.
