Ugh, Stryker, don't read this post; I hate typing it. But I can't understand. Is it more effective to take someone's life by fighting to get a plastic bag over their head and holding it there, vs mannual strangulation?? Or would it be strangulation at the same time, in which case why bother with the bag? Perhaps if the victim were first rendered unconscious. I am struggling with this new information. Dear Cheryl. What horror you experienced. I am so sorry.
Maybe employ the bag in case one doesnt do what its intended or maybe employ the bag to make it appear as suicide or maybe if its a dark bag or colored one so they dont have to see her face while theyre doing it which ive read often people put blankets and stuff on peoples faces whom they know after theyve passed so they domt feel as bad? I think i read something about casey anthony doing something like this but i may be incorrect

Did someone have a "score to settle" with MLT PD?

If she was put into the culvert on the East side, and her body was found on the West side, then she definitely traveled downstream.
There are no branches overgrown over the top of that pipe thing that goes under the road..but there are on east side from the pics prior posters posted. Have u seen the pics of the culvert on east side?

Can you show me where the police and Stryker57 said she was definitively placed on the East side? She certainly was found on the West side. It is possible she drifted down stream to the west. My feeling is that she did not. I read pretty closely and although Stryker did say he "suspected" the east as the entry, he doesn't appear to know that for sure. Maybe I missed the "definitely" part.
See where i said "believe" in my post? I never said definately...you did??

Do we know what clothing CD was wearing that day? Expected "work uniform"? casual "around the house" clothing? Dressy clothing?

I don't for a moment suspect suicide. If that were the case, why not drive directly to the place of suicide? Why text "10 minutes" and run the risk of my carpool buddies running into me as I attempted to walk 1.5 miles to the culvert?

How do we know she went right to the culvert? Is there video?

Excellent. Adding to that - Were the clothes she was found in the ones she was seen leaving in, and was it all of the items of clothing she was seen leaving in.

While there isn't enough info available to rule out suicide I'm still inclined to towards homicide because the following questions are still coming up in my head.

1. Cheryl had plans to go to work and come home to make dinner. She told Carpool she would only need 10min, she made plans to go home with carpool, she left food for dinner.

2. I thought LE made a comment early on that stated they believed Cheryl had been on path towards P&R. If she did, Why would she get out of her car if her plans was to take her own life?

3. Blood in car and fingers doesn't make sense with suicide. Especially, being on the passenger side.

4. Walking to culvert and entering through the east side, where there are plenty of sticker bushes and drowning in 2-3ft deep of icky water doesn't seem like a well thought out plan for a suicide and is inconsistent with what supposed to be a well planned out exit to make it look like a homicide.

5. Im assuming the bag used failed somehow and thus drowning occured. Cheryl seemed like an intelligent person by profession and by what people say about her. If her plan was to use a bag, she would've researched this thoroughly and probably used a more effective bag.

Just thinking out loud and I'm also just a noobie at this sleuthing thing and is simply here hoping to find answers that make sense.

They matched the video description. I don't believe clothing items were missing. Not reported to me by police anyways.

Cheryls Mother just posted on FB Celebrating Cheyrl Deboer. Heartbreaking but I agree with her

If the East side of the culvert is overgrown, then it makes sense that the East side of the culvert is a good place to hide a body.

...They seem content to ignore facts and information that has been made public for weeks now,...

JUST IMO.

RSBM. I've been following for weeks, but haven't posted much. What facts and information has been ignored? I want to make sure I'm not missing something. Thanks.

Stryker57,

First I am so sorry for your family's loss. Now with these latest findings being released, and reading your comment about this happening so close to the PD, my heart just breaks for you all over again.

A question if you care to answer: are there any more searches planned to look for your mom's missing purse and cell phone?

The reason I ask is because in the case referenced in my signature, Whitney's cell phone was found in a field a few miles from where she lived, but directly on the route her murderer took on his way back from dumping her body and abandoning her car in the Walmart parking lot.

I just feel like there have to be more clues out there and the whereabouts of the purse and phone would be good avenues to pursue.

This has been one of my main issues with a suicide theory since the beginning (I should have said since Cheryl was found). She could not really have been sure the coworker wouldn't go looking for her. Or anyone else who knew her to see her, for that matter.

How do we know she went right to the culvert? Is there video?

IF she went there herself, we do not know if she went straight there. But in relation to the post I also quoted, if she didn't, it would have made even less sense to say ten minutes. The more she walked around, the more chance for her to be spotted.

There are so many holes in the suicide theory I can't even begin to try and patch them all. I've brought several different ideas to these threads about what may have happened to Cheryl, and I tried to get off the beaten path as much as possible while still making sure they fit with the facts known to us - mainly to hopefully stir up ideas in people that would cause someone to have a lightbulb-moment. Suicide, with all the known facts? Sorry, I'm not buying.
