thanks Scandi:

you are our number 1 fan.

Sweeps week, is a time when networks try to run their best stories, shows, etc, to get better ratings. These ratings, are then used to determine how much advertising cost on a particular show for an extended period of time. It is an important time for stations to try and get their viewership up.

So, for them to spend three nights, during sweeps week, means they like our story, and have put a lot of significance into it.

It is exciting.

Remember, this isn't proof in court. I don't think he is going to run. Koin is interviewing several potential people, so, our real suspect doesn't know whether or not its' him until it airs. (wink)

Ps So, you will get to see MR. Cooper, as he appears today, and a picture of him from the early 70's.

That is just totally perfect. The guy for KOIN, I can see him but can't remember his name right now, but he is great and hope he is the one who does the interviews.

That will be great too to see the before and now of DB. All Good!

lc, I am confused-- is your suspect being interviewed, as if he is cooper and he is aware it will be broadcast?

Can't give away the entire stategy, but,

Yes, he has been interviewed (as well as other's, :liar: )

All of the people will be asked the same questions, could cooper have made it, etc. are you cooper? no, why not? etc.

Yes, he is aware. He even decided to do a little clowning for the camera, ie showing off

Thing is, when you are using a false alibi to friends, family, us, it will work until somebody tries to confirm your alibi. Truth is, Cooper's alibi was extremely difficult to disprove. However, once we learned the truth, he was sunk.

Wasn't meaning to talk in code. I guess you can read between the lines.

Cooper agreed to be interviewed. The camera was in plain sight. He even showboated for the camera crew.

He gave his expertise about whether or not the hijacker could have successfully escaped. His conclusion was that it was a piece of cake. He also said the FBI did a poor job of investigating this case, which is a common answer we get.

He was then, matter of factly, asked whether he could have been Cooper. His answer was priceless. When pressed, he came up with another answer, ie, his alibi.

This alibi, which we have proven to be false, will be explored. Others, who are respected in our community, can give 100% clarity that his 'version" of his alibi, never happened.

Then the chips will fall.

Cooper assumes other skydivers are being interviewed and asked the same questions. This may or may not be true.

So, today, Cooper believes he has dodged a bullet. Ya see, we have never told him we checked out his alibi, and that we know he is not telling the truth, nor have we shared that we know why the FBI never checked him out (remember, he called the Feds at 10pm, telling them, he hoped they didn't think he was the hijacker)

So, in a month, Cooper may be in for a surprise.

ps Scandi, Mike Donahue, from KOIN, CBS channel 6 will be doing the reporting on this case. He is also the noon anchor.

When we were interviewed last time on KOIN, at Thanksgiving, the segment was available on Koin's website afterwards. I believe it took a few days to get on the website.

Considering this will be a three part series (the other was only a two minute segment), I would almost guarantee it would be available on the website. Of course, we don't know if it will get additional play on CBS affiliates in other markets.

Koin's website can be found by simply googling KOIN 6, Portland, Oregon.

Here is a link, if it want to save it. http://www.koin.com/.

Thanks for the continued support.

You are welcome

We will be part of the segment, along with MR. Cooper, and other's.

KOIN is giving us full credit for breaking the case, and they are just reporting the story.

I believe part of the story will center on the case, where Cooper lived in '71, his armed robbery, what he did for a living before the heist and after, and how he was able to find his drop zone, land, and get to a phone in two hours.

I'm thinking on May 15th, we should start a new thread entitled:

'D.B. COOPER EXPOSED by WS'er'

Just thinking that way the whole site will celebrate. It will be a historic event and am betting it will hit the national news within hours

Happy Scandi

Hi 'ya Schmerty, Gosh it's good to see you again!

It is exciting, and of course we are all people concerned with justice and closure for the victims.

Leftcoast did write a post here where he told us there are specific victims in this case who have been really set back in their lives because they happened to have been on that particular flight that night, like the stewardesses. It isn't by any stretch of the imagination a victimless case. That is why I celebrate this exposure of the criminal with such satisfaction. It might help to finally gtive closure to all the victims whose lives were touched by D B Cooper in such a drastic way. Scandi

Thanks. We spent quite a bit of time and money to solve the case.

The most difficult part was convincing people that we had the right guy, and finding the flight attendants.

It was a fun chase, and I"m glad this clown is going to be exposed for what he is.

And to think his neighbors think he is a pillar of his community. Pathetic.

You never know who is living next door, and what kind of past they have.

Wait until you hear what he has been doing for the past couple of years. It will blow your mind.

Oh, leftcoast, let us take a few guesses as to what he has been doing.

Ummm....acting as a volunteer counselor to crime victims?

Think along the lines of a "position of authority".

wouldn't you get suspicious if a suspect had the same blue collar job from 1965-71, gets nabbed for armed robbery, and no longer needs outside employment for the rest of his life? And, went from living in lower middle class, to a playboy with a bunch of toys, and property. Hmm, no, it couldn't be him, he called in.

Think about this logically, has anyone here ever called the FBI, local police, etc., and told them "they didn't commit a crime"?

Isn't that kind of like calling the police, and saying, "hey, you know that bank that was robbed on 5th st., well, it wasn't me, so don't even think about investigating me". Somehow I think you would receive a knock on your door the next day. Maybe I'm wrong.

Hmmmmmmm Could be the Mayor, and I just hope he isn't in LE! :D

  • #239
If he has a prior history of robbery, hopefully he is NOT in law enforcement! But I think it is easy to become Mayor in some small towns - sort of like becoming the President of the PTA? (Spoken by a former PTA president)

  • #240
I guess bank manager :)
