When you said it has all been shot, I assumed it, the whole confrontation, was filmed and he is being detained. I am confused.

I knew Robert Stack had passed away years ago, but his show about this may have been my first exposure. I imagine a short clip of the old show, then a look-a-like doing the update. :laugh: Just a little drama

In today's money, it still doesn't seem rewarding enough, more effort and risk than actually holding down a job. I watched a few minutes of a show about the building of Fort Knox - now that may have been worth the risk.

From hearing about the money that the tabloids pay to film, I sure hope they contact you with a big offer. And you could be truthful and nobody would have to exploited - what a concept. You will have to get an agent.

No, he is not being detained.

When we were talking about being shot, it refers to a local tv station that is doing a story about this case.

He has never admitted to being Cooper. Let's make sure that is clear.

They have done interviews with various individuals.

As for the risk of this, I don't know, a million dollars is a lot of money. Problem is, the more high profile the case, the harder LE is going to work it, and the higher the reward is.

think about it, Cooper had no idea this case would be so popular. If he did plant the money, he probably thought the money being found would turn off the heat.

Yes I had heard about it before - I think I watched a programme on DB Cooper on the Discovery channel a couple of years ago. They had locals walking around where he "should" have landed and saying they thought he was dead as it was really rough terrain. One guy I think had been looking for him for years!

Yes, there have been quite a few people who have been "physically" looking for Cooper in the forest.

One guy, a retired army sergeant, spent years going up and down the Washougal River. WhY? I'm not sure. But, his thinking was the money was swept 20 miles down the Washougal, into the Columbia, traveled another 20 miles, three packets mysteriously flew out of the bag, buried themselves, and were somehow touching each other 8 years later.

Another guy, Tosaw, who wrote a book, feels that Cooper drowned in the Columbia, very close to where the money was found. He has spent a lot of money dragging the river looking for Cooper. So far, nothing.

Another guy, spent a ton of money in a mini-submarine trolling through Lake Merwin looking for Cooper. He found nothing. I believe he was looking before the 5,880 was found in 1980.

So, a ton of people, FBI, locals, etc, have looked for Cooper.

To think that the one square foot plastic placard from the 727 was found in the forest by a hunter in 1979, but nobody has found a body, wallet, chute, money bag, etc. I kinda get the feeling he got away. And so do most of the FBI agents, off the record. Otherwise, some FBI agents wouldn't think McCoy was Cooper, or so and so.

Given the money was found nowhere near the flight path, one has to assume it was most likely hidden there. At least, that is my guess. Who knows, maybe Cooper purposely left 6,000 behind to tease the FBI, or it may have been the money the flight attendants refused to take (cooper offered each flight attendant 2,000 for their troubles), or Cooper wanted the FBI to think he drowned, or Cooper simply couldn't find the three packets when he went to retreive the money.

But, anyway, the minute this story hits the wires, I will give an update, and a link.

Remember, our suspect, has NOT confessed. this series will discuss our case, and basically what I have posted here, along with an interview with Cooper (in which he explains why he can't be Cooper),etc.

I just want to make it clear to everyone that we are only 99% sure. We are still trying to get a confession, but, he doesn't seem to want to cooperate.

ARe you possibly confusing this case with some of the hijackings that took place in the middle east? I think some of those cases, the suspects put cloth's over their heads after commandering the flight.

Hi Camper, That date of his death is almost Karmaic in the pursuit of justice! Robert Stack always played the guy out to nail the bad guy and died on May 15th. The exposing of DB Cooper to the world will start on May 15th. I say it is great Karma for justice, which is what we all want in this case!

I wish I had found this sooner, as my husband is a commercial pilot - and might have been able to help Adnoid shed some light on certain areas (although Adnoid didn't seem to need the help).

This case has always fascinated us both - and I look forward to the 15th. I will have to rely on their website since I'm not in the area - but you can bet I'll be watching and checking back here!

Like Adnoid, I would love to hear what your commercial pilot husband thinks?

This Cooper guy is a very unique character. He started flying at 16, and was so poor he had to ride his bicycle to the local airport, and beg pilots to fly. Eventually, they would let him wash their planes, and in exchange, the pilots would let him take the stick.

It is a shame that Cooper couldn't get it together while he was in the military. But, somehow, I get the idea Cooper wasn't so good at following orders.

Do you mean what does the D.B. stand for?

Actually, the hijacker gave the name, Dan Cooper, when he purchased his ticket from the Northwest Airlines ticket agent.

Once the passengers were released in Seattle, it was clear the last person on board was named Dan Cooper.

Given this, the FBI sent an agent to the Portland Police records department to see if a Dan Cooper had a record (just in case Cooper was stupid enough to use his own name).

There was not a Dan Cooper in the records. However, there was a D.B. Cooper who had a record for a drinking related offense. I believe the man's actual name was Donald B. Cooper. (He was checked out while Cooper was still on the plane, and eliminated and deemed to have zero involvement in this case).

Meanwhile, a reporter, Clyde Jabin, was working the case, and asked for scoop on the name from a record's clerk.

The clerk told him the feds were looking at a DB Cooper. The AP reporter, Clyde Jabin, sent the name over the wire, and the mistake has stuck.

I hope that is what you are asking.

If you are asking for our suspect's name, that will be released on the May 15th three day segment.

I can tell you that his name is neither Dan nor Cooper.

and GOD. Surely someone that bought a ticket on that flight
might be able to ID the face YET.

My old PWHN lookalike boyfriends best friend flew for NW Airlines, so I never forgot DB Cooper.
