Seeker, I too am having trouble - I was going to update my media player but it takes three hours!

  • #482
It's not my media player or their ads wouldn't run at all either. It must be the site that's having trouble.

I'll just have to try and see it another time.

Cool. LC, your work must be pretty impressive for KOIN to use they guy's actual name!

Ya, I don't think they would stick their necks out unless we had a great case. Wait until you hear about his alibi. LOL

Everyone

Last night video is available on KOIN. I had zero problem playing it, but, I do have DSL.

Anyway, go to KOIN's website, and there is a tease about the Cooper story for tonight.

Click on that. IT will go to another screen.

On that next screen, one of the entries is last nights story. It is about a four minute story, so it may take time to load, and play.

Left,
WoW and congrats for a wonderful video, day #1! I can hardly wait until this evening's coverage! He sure does have the background, eh?

Hmmm, wonder how Mr. Mayfield's day is going today??? ;)

Are you able, now, to divulge who else was tracking him or you a few weeks ago? Or what the concern was? I have to admit I was getting a little worried for you and your partner.

Thanks, the media was tracking him.

I think we are safe since it is public. But, I won't be driving out to his house anytime soon.

Don't worry about us. What about those poor flight attendants who were terrorized for 5 hours, and then for 35 years had zero answers. Let's hope this clears it up for him, if he is in fact Cooper

LIke I said in one of my clues. He ran for city council and won. Don't forget, there are only 5,000 people in his town. Also ran for mayor but lost. check out his resume on line, and you will see he left off his resume the years from 1964-1972. Gee, I wonder why?

He resigned in December 2006. interesting timing, or a coincidence.

Thanks for the links to the articles, Adnoid. Talk about a checkered past..doesn't seem to have much of a concience does he?

No conscience.

Armed robbery, seeing 13 people dead. Like my buddy and I have stated, after the second fatality, you need to review things, or quit. But, it was his dream, and a great cover as a business.

Heck, you get to look legit, write off your airplanes, take six months offf a year.

Then, he got popped for ripping off a Cessna 172 in 1977. Seems he was taking it from California back to Oregon for a "mechanical inspection". Can you believe that ?

He was convicted, but only served ONE year in jail.

anybody see a pattern.

Armed robbery - probation

stealing plane - one year

Where's the deterrent.

No, and I probably wouldn't eat and drink any punch or cookies from him now, either, LOL.

This has been just great. I'm glad Scandi got you to start posting here, and that we WS'ers were able to share in your excitement! I can't believe that former FBI agent's comment (as you even mentioned) about how he would have been a solid suspect back then - hello! :slap:

You are right

We told this story, and our suspicions to that agent 6 years ago at a lunch.

He never called the FBI to tell them to check this guy out. He kept saying, I'm his best alibi.

We all make mistakes, but, it takes a man to admit to making one.

I can't believe he had the audacity to knowingly sell a guy a defective parachute!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: He is a murderer for doing that!:behindbar

The guy may have taken the risk of skydiving, but he wouldn't have done so, knowing he was facing certain death!:banghead:

FINALLY..I got to watch the video! Great job left, congrats to you and your friend on doing such a good job. I just wonder if he'll ever admit to it??? You've made a believer out of me. I can't wait until tomorrow to see the rest of it. :)

I watched last night's coverage.... great job!

Now I'm off to find the teaser for tonight and to read more about the suspect.

Thanks.

I don't think he will ever admit to it.

His armed robbery conviction-excuse- someone put acid in my drink

his stealing a plane-excuse- he was checking out the mechanics of the plane (he flew from California all the way to Sheridan, ORegon)

skydiving deaths-"they died doing what they loved", even though he knew the cypress was defective, and installed the static line drunk, then he destroyed a video of the jump so the FAA couldn't see it.

no conscience.

I'm still not entirely "getting" that statement - or the reason the agent says it. I'm probably just slow...

I think Himmelsbach wants to have blinders on and give Mayfield the benefit of the doubt, that because of that call(his alibi), he couldn't be DB Cooper.

Adnoid: you are not slow.

The agent states "i'll have to deal with the fact that I"m his alibi"

He is referring to our suspect calling him at 10pm, almost two hours after the jump. That is what he is referring to as an "alibi".

You and I know that isn't an alibi, but the retired FBI agent thinks it is.

go figure.

The agent thought that as long as the plane was still in the air, how could it be cooper on the phone. Remember, the plane didn't land until 11pm in REno.

to this day, I think he doesnt' get it.

don't forget. THIS IS HUGE

The FBI agent in the interview, and our suspect, knew each other before the hijacking.

the fbi agent helped get our suspect kicked out of the Aurora airport, where he used to teach skydiving, and have his leased airplane.

On that night, our suspect INSISTED on talking to Himmelsbach on the phone. NO other agent would do.,

I'm assuming the grainy b&w photo that they show at the beginning of the video is Cooper. If so, Mayfield looks just like him, to me. The video clip is only about three minutes long. Has this story been told at length or will it be told soon? Is a book coming out about it? Are you guys going to do the talk show circuit? I would think that all of the talk show hosts would be clamoring for interviews. This is a very interesting story!!

Actually, the grainy photo is our suspect packing a chute back in 1973, if it's the same photo I am thinking of.

We would love to do everything you mentioned.

convincing the press, public, etc. was are first step. Hopefully, we can get justice, and at least recoup our expenses related to investigating this guy.

We spent quite a bit of money, countless trips to Sheridan, we had to find both flight attendants, which was difficult, and fly to interview them.

thanks for the comments

Well, the grainy photo and the current day Mayfield bear an uncanny resemblance to the sketch made of the suspect. I really believe that you have your man. ;)
