Found Deceased WA - Daniel Wayne Cleveland, 35, Index, Snohomish County, 31 March 2017

Daniel was last seen in Index, WA on March 31, 2017. He is mentally ill and may be suicidal. He was last seen near Sportsman Park outside the small town of Index. He was last seen wearing a dark coat and jeans. He does not have access to a vehicle or a cell phone.

From the county sheriff's office: "Daniel Cleveland was reported missing since the night of March 31st. He was last seen on foot just west of Index near the Forest Service camping area. Relatives organized a search party Easter weekend but he was not located."

On July 27, 2019, a fisherman discovered human skeletal remains in the Skykomish River between

Startup, WA and Gold Bar, WA. Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Deputies recovered the remains and

the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office is attempting to determine whether they are related to

the Daniel W. Cleveland Jr. case.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identification of the human skeletal


remains that were found in the Skykomish River not far from Reiter Pit, Gold Bar, WA on December 10,

2018. The decedent is Daniel W. Cleveland Jr., 35, of Gold Bar, WA. The cause and manner of death


are currently undetermined and pending further investigation.
