WA WA - Edgewood, Human Bones, in location 'up to a year', Jan'06

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported that bones have been found in Edgewood, near Pierce County.

Police said that the bones were found in a wooded area by a group of children on Monday [23-Jan-2006] around 5 pm.

KIRO-TV said forensic and detective teams are at the site on Jovita Boulevard in Edgewood examining the scene.

Police believe the remains are human, but must test them to confirm that.

They are currently going through missing person's reports.

The article was very short. Guess they don't know much yet.
I just wonder why we barely ever prosecute in this country for abusing a corpse. Someone finds these remains and this time it was kids. Someone has to collect these remains and last but not least the family finds out their son or daughter was dumped like garbage to be strung about by animals.

Let's hope the investigators keep a very open mind as to age, time of dispperance ,etc. and hope that this missing person was actually reported and is on available websites. Could be local, yet doesn't have to be.

Realizing how remains are so often id'd as wrong age group, time frame and from wrong area.
